I’ve been facinated with “mash-ups” since my co-worker, Adam, introduced me to Girl Talk. Haha.

Now Allies isn’t trying to copy cat anyone, they’ve got a less mashed and more streamlined sound, but they ARE combining multiple songs into one mix a la Girl Talk. The sampling isn’t as widespread as Girl Talk, although you will hear a bit from Passion Pit which I hope a lot of people know by now.

Allies is thrilled to celebrate the release of the Hour of the Wolf EP with a special EP release show at Le Bain in New York City’s Standard Hotel on March 10th at 9pm. Having garnered appreciation from DJs all over, Allies’ Brian Suarez had released a DJ Mixtape which premiered on Interview Magazine today.

Allies custom blend of synth-pop and electro is replete with heartbreaking vocal melodies, irresistible rhythms and Brian Suarez’s chimerical voice. “Oceans” is a tale of love by the sea that will command you to the dance floor. The percolating synths of “Hour of the Wolf” punctuate the anthemic chorus and propulsive hooks. “Ghosts” has a spellbinding electronic rumble and stutter that adds a sinister element to the dreamy vocals. The playful “Springtime (All Over My Face)” is a flirtatious duet about having fun in the warm weather that will make you feel like winter is already over. Allies have created an EP for your headphones and favorite dance floor that is compelling without ever sacrificing the fun melodies.
