Let me know what you think of the new song “Just Make It Stop” by Low. It reminds me of something that would have made The OC soundtrack back in the day (please I hope you know that show). It’s a mellow song, I mean it has some depressing lyrics like “looking up from a 10 foot hole” which is an awfully bleak statement. But I like the song, it’s relatable, if you’ve ever just felt down and wanted to make everything go away then you’ll be able to understand this song. You can grab this song and another of their older tracks below.
Who is Low? I’m not going to lie, I think that’s an absurd name for a band, but they are not my band so what can I say?
Artist Name: Low
Members: Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker, Steve Garrington
Hometown: Duluth, MN
Born: 1993 (Low celebrates 20 years as a band in 2013)
Number of Studio Albums to Date: 10
Producers: Jeff Tweedy, Matt Beckley, Dave Fridmann, Steve Albini…
Their new album, The Invisible Way, will be released on March 19 (the 18th in the UK). Coincidentally, the release marks Low’s 20th anniversary as a band.
As you know, because I have mentioned it a million times over the last seven years of writing… I am a sucker for piano. Love it, I love the texture and the sound it adds it any track. So of course I’m going to love “Plays Nice Places” which you can grab below. When you have amusing dialogue AND a great song then you really have a winner, right?
