Friday's project show and tell

Brae wore his space pajammies to bed the other night.

I made a "beach towel shaped" Big Bird blanket for Tristan and he loves it. Tristan is Brae's cousin, he is two years old. He wasn't sure about it at first, he thought I might take it back. When he realized he could keep it he was so happy. He has been bringing it to daycare all week!

And last night in the midst of my migraine I freaked out and finally finished the bag that was giving me so much trouble. Now that it is done I think I can do it again and maybe not follow the pattern so much. The pattern made it far more complicated than necessary. The bag part is four pieces of fabric, two for the design and two for the liner. The handles are also four pieces of fabric and they were sewn together, then you cut the handle holes, then you sew their raw edges. And then still have to attach them to the bag part. It took me forever to figure it out, but also it was difficult getting everything straight and pretty. I think the fabric was too stretchy, but I'm really proud of it now that it is done.

Next I am going to try to make boxers for Brian. And then maybe something pretty. Another b ag or maybe a skirt. Brian got me a new book of skirt patterns and they are so cool!
