Cherry Red Loveliness | Gift Guide 2009
Monday, November 16, 2009Going with a theme for this post of the gift guide...
I really love all things cherry whether the actual fruit, the sundae topping sweetness or in this case the color and theme.
For instance, this super cute necklace from sweetberrybird on Etsy. She is "...a sociologist who has turned into a jewelry designer because of my devouring need for creativity."First Cherries Baby Swallow Necklace...
Necklace description: "Three genuine red coral beads and opalescent white glass blossom flower hang from bronzed brass branch. A large green glass leaf and a lovely brass baby swallow dangle from curb chain." AND the necklace is under $30!
She ships from Montreal, so if your in the US be sure to calculate how long it will take to ship. She ships within 5 business days of the payment clearing. Use PayPal and you're set.

For under $10 you can give this super adorable Cherry & Bow hair clip. It's from Shana Logic which is one of my fave web shops. Love it! So gift certificates from there are fantastic. But in keeping with the theme...back to the clip.Item description: "This awesome hair clip has cool pink PVC cherries centered in the middle of a totally fun black bow with white dots. So super adorable!!"
Plus you can look through other items on their site from designer Ukiyo5. There are really awesome hair extension color clips. Everyone who knows me understands/accepts I have an obsession for these hair clips. I love every color available and they are $10 gifts as well. Deals people deals!

I found gorgeous art prints and note cards on Red Bubble made by Angie McKenzie. The print I specifically love is called "Trees In A Row." It's a fantastical picture of pink cherry blossoms. "Cherry Blossom Trees lined up in pink bloom during the spring season. Newtown, PA."The note cards are under $5 and the prints start at $22 for a 10" x 8" size which is perfectly frameable and it comes with artist details, laminated.
Angie says she is an ametuer photographer, but that makes me wonder what she would call me. Is there a level below a beginner? Haha. She has been in photography for over four years. She likes using warm filters and close-up lenses.

Couple other links for ya...

- So Very Cherry Halter Top is also on sale on Etsy for $12, the cherries are actually silver in that print.
Happy gifting!

Hopeless Romantic Designs
Tuesday, January 20, 2009
You must not miss out on Shana Logic's Valentine Line. They even have great gifts for us ladies to give to the men who own our hearts. Including an awesome black t-shirt expressing spork love, which I know my friend Tink over at, Pickled Beef, would love. Or perhaps the skull coaster set if sporks are not right for your man.*~*~*
Anthropologie has the cutest clothes, jewelry and home decor. I wish I had the money to just go crazy at their shop, but I don't. However, they do have a pair of earrings currently on sale that would be perfect for Valentine's Day. For under $30 you can buy your sweetheart Hopeless Romantic Posts from Anthropologie.
*~*~*
Of course GAP has all their Valentine line out and ready for purchase. From pink peony totes to pink boxers adorned with little white hearts. So cute. Uh, not for me since I'm big and pregnant, but for all of you other ladies.

And if you'd like to give a little something special to your pet for Valentine's Day you should check out NurdBunny's shop on Etsy. They have cut little hats and scarfs for your pup. If my dog liked wearing anything I'd be all over this!

Diva Lila Hat
Friday, October 10, 2008
This retro style hat looks like something I would never be able to pull off, but it's also something I'd love to TRY to pull off and so I may need to order it. =o) Of course it's from Shana Logic which is one of my favorite indie shops online. There probably isn't one item in their shop that I would turn down. The Diva Lila Hat with veil looks like something which would have been worn by a starlet actress in the 50s or 60s. In fact, just last weekend Brian and I watched "Diary of a Madman" a 1963 horror flick starring Vincent Price and the leading lady, Nancy Kovack, wore hats just like this one.
I recently did order from Shana Logic because I wanted the crochet arm warmers and the candy corn earrings. It really takes a lot to stop adding items to my cart. Thank God for the wish list feature, at least that gives me hope. Haha.
**
And then over at sugarloop on Etsy, there are new and gorgeous tree prints which would brighten up any room. Bernadette Sipkes is a printmaker and illustrator from Auckland, New Zealand and she designs simple, colorful prints by hand. She has sold over 3,000 items in her Etsy store and I foresee that number growing. I love the Orange Starburst Tree, so definitely be sure to check out her shop. She signs her prints and mails them out on fine art giclée paper. Perfection. How adorable would these look in your classroom or child's bedroom!
