little odd forest
Thursday, February 7, 2008
In reading the "about" page, I found out in August 2004, "Forestprints Design" officially launched thanks to Singaporean designer, Lynda Lye. She says she needed quirky, colorful things in her life and so she created them herself and in October of the same year she opened the online shop, "little odd forest boutique."Looking through her site is seriously fun. I mean I feel like a kid.
First of all you'll see she is a fabric addict like myself, but more avid about it as she is far better a crafter than I am. =o)Her designs are bright and cheerful homemade happiness!
It seems as though she has a fount of creativity overflowing in her brain at all times. She crafts and sells everything from buttons and key chains to t-shirts and tote bags. There are items for your home, room decor, mirrors, stationery and little huggables. Each item is unique, vibrant and perfectly adorable. In addition to being a fabulous designer she has also turned her company into something that helps people across the world. She has given jobs to the homeless, taught sewing skills to women who were jobless and is now sponsoring a child from Bangladesh through the "World Vision Child Sponsorship" program. Her company also donates money each month to the World Wildlife Fund.
Head to her site, shop around and also make sure to check out the Freebie Doodles section to scoop up sweet wallpapers for your desktop.

Toddler Tales
Monday, July 16, 2007
Aw, how adorable is this idea? I'm one of those terrible people who got so overwhelmed with having a baby that I didn't write everything down. You know those baby books where you can write their first food, phrase, etc.
So when I cam across this cute idea, I thought I should hop on it and make up for lost time. Toddler Tales! This is a box that everything fits into for organizational purposes, but it comes with note cards which are small enough to bring everywhere you go. So I figure, I'll be able to write down the funny things he says and does as it actually happens.
Thank goodness they have a box that isn't specific to year, because Brae will be four in October, and I want to be able to continue writing even past the toddler years. Now if only it came with a built-in digital frame, that would be fantastabulous!
You can buy the cubes and note cards at Tiny Tales online.

Bring the beach to you
Thursday, June 21, 2007Crafty people will enjoy this, but so will those of you out there who are perhaps a bit craft-challenged.
Today is the first day of summer so think beaches, vacations, Sandcastles and summer fun.
Need a little help with the imagination flow? Go to the Beaches Family Resorts website and they bring the sounds of the shore to your desktop. Seagulls and ocean waves all you need is the sand beneath your feet and you are set.
This is such a cool feature on their site, but before I tell you about it go grab your kids because they are going to love this. Visitors to the site get to build their own Sandcastles online. It's easy peasy to do, just follow the instruction and click away. When you are done it gets saved in a gallery and you get to name it! Plus you can also send it to your friends via email or you can save it as the wallpaper on the computer. So cool!
This is what mine looks like, I named it "Casa Crumbles" hahahaha...I crack myself up.

See how cute it is and there are many different ways to design your e-card. You can even add extras to it once your done. There are beach balls, flags, even a hermit crab! And while you wait for the Sandcastle to save there is a little beach ball you can hit around the screen to entertain yourself. =o)
Personalized Photo Cube
Cool people create crafty tools.Tabblo created a tool to help you make your own photo cube.
Upload some photos, arrange them in a template, and print out a PDF.
Then you can cut and fold it into a cube.
I haven't done it yet, but it sounds easy peasy and their website says you won't even need tape or glue!
