Stylish holiday frames
Wednesday, December 31, 2008
A co-worker of mine recently was telling me his partner had always wanted glasses. Can you imagine, someone who has nearly perfect eyesight actually wanting a pair of glasses because he likes the way they look? Hehe. I can't blame him, my eyesight is good, too and I have some "fake" glasses which I wear every so often. They have a very slight prescription and it does help a bit when I'm working on the computer for 8 hours.
Finding hot frames isn't easy though, but apparently it's in demand. One of the special promos during this holiday season which I have come across is to get a pair of sweet Holiday frames from Zenni Optical. The best thing about getting frames from Zenni Optical is they are so affordable! But even beyond the excellent prices, they have designs and colors you won't find anywhere else because they don't care about the trends, they just care about finding good quality frames that will make you feel funky and unique.
The ones you see pictured here come in a bunch of different colors: Brown/Silver, Black/Clear blue, Burgundy/Dark pink, Black/Red, Black/Orange, or Green/Silver (as shown). You could get a pair for every outfit and all for under $100. So if you received any money for Christmas and want some extra designer frames, whether you need them or not, you should check out their site and prepare your wardrobe for some extra color.

Designer clothes (close out tricks)
Wednesday, July 2, 2008
Hmm, this isn't really design related, but I think it's very important if you like the "designer" elite clothing lines. Now, I do like them but can never buy from them unless I get the throw away items which make it to Rugged Wearhouse. That's fine with me, but even their clothes are going up in price with our evil slumping economy.
So I just found out a trick and I'm going to share it with you.
If you go to amazon.com and type (Closeout Item) in the search field, specifying "apparel" as the product type...you'll find amazing deals. Like Banana Republic shirts for under $15!
Or this Gloria Vanderbilt Tank for only $20!
Happy bargain shopping!

Pop art and retro paintings
Monday, September 17, 2007
While reading Indie Fixx, I stumbled across ArtGhost. ARTGHOST is two artists and independent designers, Eric Adler and Liz Wong, working in Seattle, Washington. They hand make everything in their shop which means you get one-of-a-kind items, because the hand never makes exact duplicates. You can also buy greeting cards they designed and most of them are quite hilarious. They have the old school black & white sketches of retro people, but the captions are far more modern which makes for a humorous time.
What sold me right away were the handmade purses. They have this girl with headphones on and a back splash of pink with black polka dots. It's awesome! You would never find something like this in a store, at least not around Delaware. Bloom (on Main Street in Newark, DE), you need to get in touch with these guys and start buying their inventory, I know your UD student customers would totally scoop them up.
Also, if you want to know more about what Eric and Liz are up to, you can hop on over to their blog.

Only one Tobi

The creators of Tobi are smart cookies. And they are clearly in my head somewhere, because I am nearly 80% an online shopper. Window shopping is more like window browsing courtesy of Firefox and adding things to my cart happens with one click. Many times I end up closing the entire window without checking out, because well, I can get click crazy. Haha."Inspired by Tobi, the first customer to walk through the doors of Azalea, founders Catherine and Corina built Tobi on the belief that the in-store boutique experience—genuine customer relationships, fun shopping with friends, 1-1 care and honest advice, unique merchandising, engaging presentation—can not only be delivered to the Internet, but even further enhanced, improved and revolutionized."
Tobi takes things one step further than any other place you have shopped before. They have a personalized style service. Whether you are in need of a total wardrobe makeover or just a specific item like velvet apparel, their stylists will ensure you look your best. They take into consideration your lifestyle, body type, personality and budget.
For the colder season ahead they have velvet clothing to keep you snuggled. Velvet clothes seem to hold heat in very well, while also being smooth against skin that might dry out in the winter.
Oh and before you leave their site, make sure to check out EcoTobi for all of their eco-friendly brands.

Purse-a-holic
Sunday, August 19, 2007
There's an acquaintance of mine who is going to love this post. She calls herself a "purse-a-holic" and friends...she so is!Bolzano, is a brand of luxury fashion handbags and leather accessories. This brand has been sold and VERY popular internationally in Europe, Asia, Central and South America. And now ladies (and ladies' boyfriends ;o) we can get in on the trend.
"The Bolzano woman is self confident; her look is sophisticated and fashionable. She is captivated by exceptional styles and chic designs. She indulges in handbags that accentuate her good taste and fashion sense."
Does that sound like you?
If you read "In Style" or "Cosmopolitan" then you have seen the current ad campaigns for Bolzano handbags and everything about those ads is sophisticated and chic. Whether you need a bag for a late night in a ritzy New York club or for a fab glam dinner in an upscale restaurant in L.A. you'll find something to perfectly accentuate your personality and your wardrobe with Bolzano.
