Saving Grace Diamond

Monday, August 6, 2007

When my parents first started dating my Dad gave my Mom a necklace with a single diamond on it when things started to get more serious.

Mom's not much for jewelry and neither am I, but both of us would never turn down a diamond. Haha. I love shiny objects, so add some sparkles and I'm completely ga-ga.

Many moons ago when I graduated high school my parents threw me a nice little graduation party. While rummaging around outside and preparing for extra guests my Mom lost the diamond out of her engagement ring. It was devastating. Everyone banned together throughout the day and into the evening crawling around in the grass in hopes to find the stone. It didn't happen.

In comes the diamond necklace again. Dad found the necklace, had the diamond removed and put into my Mom's ring without her even knowing. That diamond from their early love now means more than ever. And well, he upgraded to six prongs instead of four. =o)

Moral of the story is sometimes it doesn't hurt to scoop up loose diamonds for a necklace or earrings. You never know when they may just be your saving grace. And for those of you who wouldn't know the first thing about diamonds, then you need to make sure you find a jeweler who wants to help. Whiteflash.com goes so far as to provide in-depth diamond education to help facilitate and guide you through your decision making process. Sounds like the right way to go!
