"Nest Pretty Things" & "VeryFairy"

Yes, yes, I know, I'm addicted to Etsy. But look, you can find such amazing artists and handmade goods on this site it is inspiring and amazing!

Today while responding to mail in my own Etsy store, I also began looking through recently uploaded products and I came across Tamar's Etsy shop.

She is a mom, an interior decorator and a product designer living in Vermont. Last she she launched two of her own lines on Etsy, "VeryFairy" for her whimsical fairy crowns, "Nest Pretty Things" for everything else, both are registered trademarks. Whether you are shopping for a gift, for yourself or as a surprise for a little girl in your life you will absolutely love looking through this shop. Everything in it is simply magical!

You can read more about her at her blog, Nest Decorating. You'll find she is a fun and loving person who very much enjoys what she does. Passion goes far when being a designer and it shows through in her work very well!

    Strangeling

    Friday, October 5, 2007

My love for gothic decor is one that many people find odd; especially since I love Tinkerbell and she's all cutesie. But if I had it my way, Tinkerbell would have a complete makeover. She has the sassy attitude, she needs a new outfit and a dye job. But anyway that is really beside the point.

Jasmine Becket-Griffith aka Strangeling has quickly become one of my all time favorite artists. I own two of her prints and they are amazing. Seeing them online does them no justice; when they are in your hands it's a treasure.

I wish I could own all of her work and maybe someday I will, we'll just have to see. My favorite of prints I own now is "Alannah" she is a fairy with black hair and black wings. She is in a cathedral and the stain glass windows are vibrantly colored. The print is exquisite.

Anyone who is into gothic art, fairies, fantasy or anything in that realm...well the art offered at Strangeling will be perfect for you. She sells merchandise too, you can get checks with her artwork (which I have and love), t-shirts, statues, posters, etc. Some of her merchandise is being sold at Hot Topic. I'm telling you, she is awesome, you have to check out her work.

Recently on her blog she announced she will be selling new MINI paintings. They are tiny original acrylic paintings on sheets of canvas, the size is 5 x 3. But you need to scoop them up right now or you'll lose your chance.

She is going to be at FaerieCon, October 12th-14th in Philadelphia, PA. I won't be able to attend since that is the weekend Brian comes back from Texas and is also the weekend of Brae's 4th birthday. But I'm telling you, if you can swing it, you totally need to go.

    RAWK on Jasmine!
