Summertime house fix-ups
Tuesday, July 3, 2007What is one thing you can do to instantly cheer up a room?
Turn the light on, right?
So perhaps my summer project will be to upgrade my home lighting, or my parent's home lighting. I have absolutely always loved light rails that run along the ceiling. They provide a nice glowing ambiance while staying out of the way, plus having the light come down on you is more like being outside in the sun. Provided you get natural light bulbs, you'd be all set for those rainy days when you need to cheer up a room.

You can buy light rails from 3 to 8 lights. For me, I really like the 6 Light Monorail Kit by George Kovacs. It's so modern looking, and it has enough bulbs to provide a good amount of light. Plus, you have the opportunity to move the lamps in any direction you wish. Wouldn't that be great for a library room? It would be the perfect way to spotlight different shelves.
