With the holiday season quickly approaching I thought I'd start writing about some online indie shops I enjoy and the gorgeous, unique or quirky deals you can find in them. I mean we all are tight on funds these days so shopping early and shopping bargains is important, but if you're like me you also want to be the one to give the cool gifts that everyone will love.

Kate Endle went to the Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio. She designs and creates everything you can imagine from simple illustrations collages on posters, magazines, stickers, picture books, bus shelters, all the way to fiberglass pigs. =o)

Her shop on Etsy makes available many of her designs and in three different forms. You can choose from: original one of a kind collages on stretched acid free canvas with a decorative 1.5" edge, a collage on acid free rag paper or digital print on acid free cotton rag paper.

She even has children books available for sale at amazon.com, Kate Endle Children Books on Amazon.com.

    Parskid electricbaby

    Parskid electribaby laptop sleeves are very unique. And compared to other protective sleeves for your laptops they aren't very expensive. There is one design I really like, but I'm not sure how I feel about the others. I think you'd have to be pretty darn spunky to carry your laptop around in a sleeve with an illustration of a naked woman on the front. Not just any naked woman, but a "kinky girl." Bleck. Sorry, not loving it.

    I do however like the design with the little yellow people sketches reaching for the tall star-shaped flowers. Very unique and cool. This would be a great gift for any artsy laptop carrying person.
