Dali Decals

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Dali Decals is owned and operated by David and Alicia, and is located in Asheville, North Carolina. They started out doing their own vinyl graphics for sports bikes. Since then, they have expanded their business to doing custom signage, motorcycle trailers, business logos for vehicles and buildings, and even wall art.

It's the wall art I'm excited about. The one shown in this picture would go well in our baby's nursery. There is an ocean/pirate theme and his bedding has ships on it. There is an accent wall which is an ocean blue color and really a lot of nautical things including the light switch plate. So "We can't change the wind, but we can adjust the sails," would be quite fitting.

I also like the personalized wall letterings. You can have your child's name done or just a monogram and the colors and styles are chosen by you, too.

They have all sized art for the wall including trees which nearly go up to the top of the ceiling so it's as if you have a cherry blossom in your home. There are a few silhouettes to choose from and then of course some animals including whales and birds and such.

So check out their Etsy shop and pick some wall art for your home. Then squeegee away!

Best of New York, Vinyl Wall Lettering

    Tuesday, March 3, 2009

New York Magazine's "Best of New York" issue has just been released and this year, like in the past, the magazine has invited several artists/designers to submit proposals for the special edition of this cover. This year's proposed artists included Brooklyn-based street artist KAWS, book-jacket designer Evan Gaffney, Stefanie Barth and Julie Hirschfeld, from Stiletto NYC, Mother Design, from the ad agency Mother, and magazine and book designer Tom Brown.

Eventually, the Kaws cover got green-lighted.

Construction slated to begin in 2010, the Federal Aviation Administration has approved the expenditure of funds from airline passenger ticket taxes to pay for the design and engineering drawings of the first phase of the planned modernization project at Chicago's O'Hare Airport (ORD).

O'Hare Modernization Project includes replacing four runways, decommissioning three runways, and extending two runways. The reconfiguration of the airport is estimated to increase the airport's capacity to over 3800 operations daily and cut delays by 79%, according to Airport-Technology reports.

Some may be asking, Why add wall words, or wall lettering to the walls our home or apartment? The answer is simple; Wall Words can create an inspiring, calming, or uplifting effect to any room in your home. They also give your home a touch of personality, and can bring your own personal charm into your decorating.

Once you've seen some examples of how wall words can enhance the look and atmosphere of your home, you'll be hooked! You can see examples of Wall Words at vinylwalllettering.com, or vinylcraftlettering.com.
