A
Washington Post writer recently suffered a case of slippery fingers and dropped his beloved BlackBerry into the toilet.
After he fished it out (he says the water was clean) he shook it and then took the battery out. His first thought was to get a hair dryer and blow it dry. But then he called a friend who told him simply to leave the Blackberry overnight in a bowl of uncooked rice.
Duh! Why didn't I think of that!? Bowl of uncooked rice...haha, but seriously this guy knew what he was talking about and proceeded to explain. "Rice, he explained, sucks out moisture."
He has left his Blackberry in a rice spa treatment each night since the fall into the toilet bowl. He says it is still working, but the time has been frozen. Hmm...the time...doesn't the whole organizer functionality depend on those seconds to keep moving?
Who knows. I don't own a Blackberry and probably never will.
Moral of the story: We electronics get revived in bowls of uncooked rice. =o)
