People who buy cell phone accessories and jewels are closet nerds. My cell phone is currently a hideous mess, broken and in need of replacement. When this happens I have already vowed to get a nice one and take care of it.
I am a nerd.
I would love to have Emily the Strange cell phone accessories. Perhaps a little case, perhaps some sort of sticker or blinky gadget.
Let me just tell you. If and when you purchase an accessory for your phone, you instantly become a nerd. You have stepped out of the need for technology, eg. cell phone, and decided to artsy it up a bit. Your love has grown for this gadget. You are a gadget lover. =o) Therefore a nerd. See the logic?
And this is why my dears...we have AccessoryGeek.com. Oh yes, it's true.
For you to buy a snazzy cellular case or perhaps a Martini Glass cell phone charm? Whatever floats your boat or tickles your fancy. They have scratch removes, "bling bling" stickers and even holograms. It's actually pretty cool to look through all the stuff, I never realized how attached people get to their cell phones. But I do see a lot of teenage girls taking pictures of themselves. Hmmm. I think AccessoryGeek is onto something.
Buy the studio kit complete with interactive DVD and you can "learn the secret tricks and moves from the superhero himself."
According to Spin Master, the Spiderman Training Studio "comes complete with a 30 minute interactive DVD, two sided Spidey sound bop bag as well as a Spiderman wall mat to practice your web crawl and sling!"
Whoa!
As a parent of a three-year-old who loves Spiderman, I know he would love this studio kit but I'm not sure it is a good idea. So I really want him thinking he can train to be like Spiderman?
I mean, what if there is a Superman one and then your kid thinks s/he can fly?
I know it's all good and fun, but this is different than a video game where you're behind a controller making a character on the screen move around. This is an actual training kit that you physically participate in. I'm just not sure how I feel about it.

Picture this, a bendable OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) screen technology which would use oil and water to produce images. Oooo...Ahhhh.
Clearer images and lower amounts of power used are the benefits to this technology. Removing the need for a backlight means thinner displays, AND the possibility of creating displays that can be rolled up.
There are limitations right now because these screens are hard to make. But the hope is that by the year 2010, there will be "289 million active-matrix OLED displays annually."
Sounds good to me, I think a roll-up display would be wicked awesome!
How many times are you going to hear the radio commercials that ask you how much money you are making and then promise you they can help you make more? It's all those computer training commercials. But their lofty promises don't explain what they offer aside for a pay raise.
So let's break it down a bit. What exactly is Cisco certification training? What does computer training involve? How can you prepare for the exams?
PrepLogic provides a number of different online certification courses for the IT community. PrepLogic can help with a variety of certification training products - free practice exams, free CBT, audio and video training, and more. Each PrepLogic Exam title comes complete with PrepLogic's PDF help manual. To access the help manual, select Help - PrepLogic Help Manual from the PrepLogic Practice Exam.
Some of the materials and classes are pretty well priced, too. Unlike other places where you're paying $25K for a 6-month certification session. So, if this is up your alley then I recommend checking it out.
Oh heck yes! Security aside, I am all about wireless. Cable clutter makes me angry. So as the number of USB devices connected to my PC grows, the more Hulk-like I become. At last! Wireless USB FTW! Wireless USB technology enables networking of devices such as printers, scanners, game controllers, and digital cameras to their PC at speeds that exceed those of Bluetooth®. Connections up to 480mbits per second, to be exact.
yesterday, D-Link announced its DUB-9240, a wireless USB hub. The kit includes a Wireless USB Adapter and a 4-Port Wireless USB Hub.
The DUB-9240 Wireless USB Kit, DUB-2240 4-port Wireless USB hub, and DUB-1210 Wireless USB adapter are set to ship in Q4 this year. The DUB-9240 MSRP is $219.99.
I don't care what anybody says about wireless products at home, I like them, and I openely embrace wireless USB..although I was a little saddened to see the MSRP.
Although not breaking news, I read today that the surfers of the web should be aware of a new virus which deletes important [Windows] system files and additionally hijacks your sound card to say "...Your system files have been deleted. Sorry."
This new Trojan was detected by Panda Labs, a company which offers software such as anti virus and firewall)
Users who contract the BotVoice.A Trojan will hear the phrase, "You have been infected. I repeat, you have been infected and your system files have been deleted. Sorry. Have a nice day and bye bye," on a continuous loop while the virus attempts to make its mark.
According to Panda, it prevents users from working with the computer properly, as it does not allow the files with certain extensions from being run: .BAT, .COM, .EXE and .MP3 files, among others. It deletes system files, then modifies the Task Manager and Windows registry and blocks any possible action to undo the damage.
The Trojan can find you through peer-to-peer networks, external storage devices, or malicious websites, but it does not spread automatically by its own means. Just remember to keep your security software up to date.
A talking virus. Hmm..candy corn is suddenly coming to mind.
Hi, my name is Christy and I am not only addicted to my digital camera, but I have shared this addiction with my little boy.
Braeden now has a Fisher Price Digital Camera. He can take 187 pictures in less than 2 hours. I have never seen so many pictures of feet and ants in my whole life. But he loves his little works of art and so I support this new hobby.
As for me, I have an awesome camera and as times passes, my skills become more refined. It's true. I love to take pictures and can very often be found behind the lens. I have a Kodak digital camera with amazing features and zooms. The quality of the photos are brilliant and people are always amazed.
But I also need to find a smaller digital camera. One that is easier to take on the road and put in my pocket book. Something that maybe doesn't take quite as good photos, but also isn't as clunky.
Unfortunately, when looking through the list on Ritz Camera's website, I came across the Canon Rebel XTi which is definitely clunky, but it is an SLR Digital Camera! 10.1 Mega Pixels and multiple accessories including a variety of different lens which have me feeling all types of creative. Yes, I know, I just bought a house, this is not in the budget...yet.
Moving along. The Canon PowerShot A550 Digital Camera is only 1.7 inches deep which would be perfectly compact. It still has 7.1 MP and DIGIC II Image Processor with iSAPS Technology for superior image quality. Definitely keeping this one in mind.
Do you guys have any ideas for a compact camera I could carry around comfortably? Perhaps into concerts? Hehe.
VUDU doesn't require a PC and is independent of your cable or satellite TV service. And yet it delivers thousands of movies to your television every day. The New York Times is saying VUDU will be "providing instant gratification for moviebuffs." Ok, so obviously this sparked my attention.
What is VUDU?
On April 30th, VUDU, Inc. announced "that it has closed deals with seven major motion picture studios: The Walt Disney Studios, Lionsgate, New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Studios, and Warner Bros. Entertainment" including 15 top tier independent and international film distributors.
We'll have to see what happens. It sounds like something I would absolutely be interested in, but I have to wonder, because I really love having my DVDs.
Everyone's familiar with having two knobs in the shower - hot and cold. But what about adding third knob? What would you do with a third knob? Hmm... The Musical Shower Knob lets you turn on the tunes while you're getting squeeky clean. No more hiding your radio under a towel to prevent sparks from putting a damper on your showering fun. This AM/FM radio is cleverly disguised as a faucet knob (which probably doesn't look like your real knobs anyway). And wouldn't you know, the knob actually controls the volume. No busting holes in your tile - a suction cups secures the knob to the wall. And yes, it's waterproof.
Y'all are going to need to listen to my content management and web hosting banter for a quick second, because boy do I have an opinion.
First of all, content management systems mean absolutely nothing if they take forever to figure out. If you can't train someone to use it and understand it, then it really doesn't give you less work now does it?
Web Hosting Provider's should make life easier. After all, you are paying them for the service and therefore they should be serving you adequately should they not?
My hosting environment is pretty awesome. They allow many third party plug-ins, plenty of server space and 24-hour support. The price isn't steep and the service is great, so I am comfortable with what they offer and I'll stay a steady customer.
What does this mean to you? Well, now people like me have started a web hosting service for people like you. They've been there and done that; they know what you want, what you need and what you expect. iHubNet Hosting Solutions is united and started by the people who had their own successful hosting companies and experienced several years in hosting industry. iHubNet hosting packages are for both business and individual If you are with iHubNet Hosting Solutions, you never regret on your decision. They offer back-ups, free web templates, free software applications and even Ruby on Rails if you wish to code with that type of language.
They have hosting packages where you will get a ton of free stuff. Their hosting packages come with a control panel called cPanel. From cPanel, you can access 50+ free software applications, and install them with few clicks. You can install forums, shopping carts, blogs and many more! These software are provided totally free of charge to each control panel in your hosting account.
Tell me, where and how you can beat such a deal? I'm really not sure you can. =o)
Imagine being able to ask someone to send you a coke by buggy.
No more horses and carriages or well...getting up off your lazy arse and going to get a coke yourself.
Now you can transport your cokes or any beverage via a remote control Beverage Buggy. One or two, cans or bottles. Which though I do think is a bit lazy, I also think it is flippin' ingenious!
Now you can show the world just how geeky you are by sporting this body art from Archie McPhee. Nothing shakes up a n00b more than going nose to nose with a with a Geek bearing Death and PWN3D on his arm. Or perhaps you can kick it old school with an Atari joystick. But for an understated yet nonetheless geeky look, I'd go with the power button.
The DataGlass is a small monocular lens head mounted display for wearable PCs. The DataGlass allows the user to see a 10inch wide screen 60cm in front of her.
It is dust and water-proof. In case you're walking through a waterfall with a computer attached to you...or um...in an old attic.
And if you happen to have an extra $1636 lying around then it is all yours!
Bah. Brian is always having to bring me back down off my credit cloud. I get suckered into the deals where you can get special promotions if you have an IKEA credit card.
And I also always thought it was okay to keep doing balance transfers because then you can pay your card off without paying interest. But it's actually not always smart to do, you have to read all the fine print. Most times when you transfer a balance at a promotional rate, and your regular purchases carry a higher rate, your monthly payments will go toward the balance that carries the low, promotional rate.
So, do yourself a favor, find someone like Bri to keep you grounded. Haha. And/or compare credit cards and their fine print. If you do some digging you can normally find lists of the best offers currently available. Interest rates on credit cards can be outrageous, never carry a balance on a card who is charging you 19% interest, that is certifiable and yes it has happened to me. So now that I know better, I keep an eye on the offers I get from other companies. If you can find a 0% credit card balance transfer with no penalties or fees you should absolutely take it.
You both have to wake up for work in the morning. It is a must. And neither of you want to have to worry about making sure the other person is indeed awake.
In comes the ring alarm.
The ring alarm is ingenious.
The Ring Alarm has two vibrating rings and a computerized charging cradle. The cradle is used to program each ring to vibrate at a certain time.
How awesome is that? Check out a more details picture here.
At first I thought I should put this under the books section, but then I realized it definitely is geeky and techie enough to be talked about right here.
But someone is going to have to draw me a diagram because I'm not quite sure I understand. This lamp can stand horizontally or vertically depending on how it needs to be used. Somehow it knows, via a smartly located sensor, just how it needs to be used and it distributes the light accordingly. That is bloody brilliant!
Designed by Lee Suk Woo and Byeon Dong Jin it takes up very little space and is easy to store since it can fold. It has already received a Special Mention in the 2007 Lightouch Design Competition in Singapore.
Essentially my Dad is a chef without a restaurant. I tease with him all the time telling him he needs to just turn the shed into a tiny cafe and become a soup nazi of sorts, you know, like on Seinfeld.
He's such a great cook. I mean, just naturally, he's not one of those people that can't cook without a recipe. Put spices and food in front of my Dad and your 99% guaranteed a great dish. Hmmm...just don't give him cinnamon. Haha.
There are solutions for aspiring chefs that lack the financial means. ARF business loans is the way to go. This is going to be a hefty loan, but since the working capital you will receive is indeed a loan, the interest you pay is tax deductible. Perfect for small to medium-sized merchants. Ahhhh. Si senorita we do have a solution. ;o)
The Wall Street Journal wrote an article about Google's evil step brother, Blackle. Okay so maybe not evil, but considering the extreme difference in Google versus Blackle, I wasn't sure how else to explain the polar opposite of the look.
The question is...does Blackle really help with energy output just because it's...well..black?
Not so much folks.
The federal Energy Star program found that modern LCD computer monitors don’t see much benefit from a black screen. But if you have one of those old big honkin' tube monitors you may be saving yourself a small bit of energy. CRT screens saw energy savings with Blackle of between 5% and 20%.
And so there you have it. Yes, we do need to be more conscious of how we use energy, but no...Blackle is not really the way to go.
One example here is the Bedford Smart Recharge Station. "Smart Technology seamlessly connects you to high-tech accessories by keeping electronics and cords discreet while also organizing and holding household items."
Or check out the Bedford Smart Wall Shelf. Yep. It has speakers embedded into the shelf. You can "set the tone with our speaker shelf, which plays music through two stereo-quality speakers and connects to your MP3 player."
It's all fabulous isn't it? Now if only it weren't so damn expensive then maybe they'd be on to something.
There is certainly no lack of dating sites online. But this one surprised me. Girls, if you're looking for gothic guys to date you now have a site to turn to for guidance.
Wow. I've always fancied myself a little bit eccentric, but I can tell you honestly, I would stick out like a sore thumb if I put a profile on this site. Sorry fellas, I'm not the goth girl you're looking for, but there are plenty available and searching for love.
"Dedicated to bringing gothic singles together in a totally free atmosphere. Email other members, IM other members, or add them to your blackbook. Meet other hot and sexy girls or guys who have intersts in the gothic lifestyle. Many members love techno, punk rock, and goth music."
So freshen up your powdered face, check your spudged charcoal eyeliner and blot those black lips ladies, because there is a man out there with make-up to match and depressing poetry to share.
Ebayers be careful there are more scammers now than ever.
"Online auction house eBay is full of scammers, and now you can't even trust the feedback system any more. It's the season of the shafters."
I use Ebay all the time, but I have favorite sellers that I keep going back to time and again. Whether for stickers and stationery or for fun rockabilly clothes, there is a seller I trust and will buy from.
For people not as familiar with Ebay it can be kind of daunting. You don't know who you are buying from, and what if people aren't honest with feedback. I know a lot of people don't even leave feedback which can cause a skew in the results.
Apparently, Gary Marshall has been burned one too many times. He now takes the approach of thinking the worst about everyone. Bummer. Cynical and skeptical people have always bothered me. I understand the idea, but I always give people the benefit of the doubt. Yes, that does get me burned, but I still can't find it in myself to automatically assume the worst of someone.
Anyway, Marshall decided to explain his Ebay skepticism to us with a little tale about Captain Spanky. It's pretty interesting, but I stand firm in my method. Check out the eBay stores and mark your favorite sellers. They won't go against quick payers, nice feedback and repeat buyers. =o)
Maybe it's because the web has gotten to be a popular tool for finding a home. Or maybe it is because people like to network and research and this is easier than going to the recorder of deeds or your local government offices. If only we could build houses in cyberspace and actually move into them. Betcha we could save a buck that way. I wonder if a digital house would get viruses, that would be bad and probably pretty scary.
Being a home owner IS scary. Particularly for people who allowed a bank to get them in over their heads with an adjustable mortgage rate plan. DO NOT DO IT. You don't know how much you will be making in 5 years, maybe you'll be well off and an increased rate won't hurt any, but is it work the risk?
Brian and I are in the midst of finalizing our first mortgage and we'll be closing on a house this summer. It's stressful to think about all of these financial matters and I think banks sometimes want you to think they are taking care of you...when...they might not be. If you have bad credit and are trying to get a mortgage it might be best to wait it out, stay somewhere else or rent until you can repair your credit so you can go into buying a home feeling more financially stable. A good bank will tell you that and they will work with you on trying to handle debt consolidation.
Just some tips I feel like sharing. Since I know how overwhelming this can be. =o)
The Register just stated, "Italian police have arrested 26 people allegedly involved in an international phishing operation."
Hahaha. Serves them right.
I mean how many people did they think would be stupid enough to fall for one of their fake e-mails and NOT report it to authorities. I get scam e-mails all the time and sometimes I do report them. Other times I just delete them. Masquerading under false pretenses is just cruel.
I don't know what will happen to them, but I'm glad they were caught. =o)
You know when you're up late at night totally geeking out in front of the computer or television? You see those infomercials and for some unknown reason 1 a.m. 60-second blips can make Chia Pets look really amazing. Don't even get me started on how cool the Chia Herb Garden looks after watching the Food Network until 3 a.m. haha.
The other night we saw an infomercial on Mr. Beer - Beer Keg Premium Edition. Poor timing to be on TV during the summer when frats aren't in session and all the 21 year old guys aren't prepping for their next Friday night party.
Anywho, you wake up the next day to the static screen and maybe still feel like an order of Chia Pets or beer kegs are absolutely necessary. But heck if you wrote anything down to remember where to order. No need to fret about this anymore. TVProducts4Less.com won't let you down...
Call it a campaign to clean up Internet content. I call it having a government that acts more like a manipulative psycho family member with narcissistic tendencies who demands conformity in such a strict way that they are sucking the spirit out of their people.
Talk about uber censorship. This is just ridiculous.
The operators of "World of Warcraft" in China have replaced skeletons with healthy human bodies in the local version of the popular monster-killing online game, a spokesman said Friday, amid a recent government campaign to clean up Internet content.
What the hell is that about? I mean seriously. It's a game. A GAME! And if there are characters that look like skeletons WHO CARES!? It has also been reported that the Chinese update to "World of Warcraft," "The Burning Crusade," is still awaiting government approval.
Keep it up China. Remove skeletons, ban scary stories...soon, the only frightening and horrific thing that will be left will be reality.
Free chat rooms, blogs, interest clubs, online friends AND a dating site. So you're telling me, EVERYTHING that is MySpace, Facebook and Match.com is being combined into yet another social network.
And it is free!
Find people with common interests and create clubs of like minded individuals. Whether you want to meet your next business partner or the love of your life, WireClub facilitates the broadest range of connections possible.
It's great to know they have a chat interface because that is what has been really missing since the good old days of AOL and their snazzy instant message/chat mingled with the AOL profile that every teenage girl and boy had to update on an hourly basis.
So the wire club has everything built in, it's a great piece of software. You can create photo galleries, update your personal information and search through the directory via a variety of different avenues. So, not just by location, gender or age, you can actually find people who have the same interests as you which is a cool feature. I think it will have the great networking components of MySpace, the more interactive pieces of Facebook and the mingling abilities of a dating service online.
I went through and looked at the interests adding up on Wire Club and it was pretty neat. I now know that 896 of the members like football, while only 101 said they enjoy writing. Come on fellow journalistic nerds, where are you!? It is interesting to see the stats on what people's favorite books and music are, this is a feature that you can't easily look up on any of the other networks currently available.
Would you have guessed that The Matrix is on the top ten of favorite movies? I love it, but I'm pretty surprised after all this time it is still clocking in on the top ten. Of course The Simpsons and Family Guy are on the top ten for television as is Grey's Anatomy and surprisingly enough for me CSI. In fact, CSI came in as #1, I would not have guessed that one. AND another interesting thing came in the stats for favorite food, of course pizza is #1, but sushi came in at #10 which shocked me. I love sushi, but never would have thought it to be top ten material. I wonder if people think it's cool to say they like sushi, how many of you football fans really eat it, huh? Haha.
I think it's great more networks are coming out, it makes all the systems better their features and that's great for the users. Check out Wire Club, I think you'll like it. =o)
Let's get technical about credit cards. Are they evil? Some might say yes, some might not want to have anything to do with them. It's essential however to build credit for yourself. And then to maintain good credit. Especially if you want to be considered for a mortgage.
So when you are learning about credit you need to know how to read the fine print. If you have a card right now and are carrying a balance with an interest rate in the double digits, you'll never be able to pay that off. I'm telling you, it is insane. And a lot of kids out of college have this problem, yes, I'm speaking from experience. So I read up on 0% balance transfers. And I ended up transferring balances from high interest rate cards because I was able to get a new card that had 0% interest for a year on my transfers. The fine print noted having to pay a fee as per how much I transferred, but it ended up benefiting me to do this anyway.
Another thing to know about is when you can get a card and have 0% interest as long as you pay a certain about each month. My Mom has a card like that and so she can use it and as long as she pays a certain a mount each month she won't be charged interest. Brilliant! Credit cards 0%, those are the key things to look for when reading about programs. But always make sure to check for those hidden fees. Just because you have a credit card does NOT mean you will be putting yourself into debt if you are handling your credit smartly.
So my friend Mike and I used to joke about all the ridiculous iPod docks.
And now we have something to add to the list thanks to the oh so lovely and expensive iPhone.
Help me please, because if the iPhone accessories, extras and docks are already starting then imagine...your $600 purchase for an iPhone will quickly become thousands once you start deciding you need a wristband to go along with it.
And so I have for you here....the sport armband for the iPhone... "It gives you easy navigation access to your iPhone and minimizes bulk on your arm."
Good grief people! Put it in your POCKET! Or...and I know this might be hard for you..but while you are working out, maybe you should PUT THE PHONE AWAY!
The Comcast bundles currently being offered are the only economical way to get more bang for your buck.
One important thing to know about their high speed Internet is they allow great networking abilities. They let you connect up to five computers to your Internet connection. These computers can also communicate with each other, allowing you to share files and printers. You can go wireless making it even easier to add computers to your home network. Though Brian and I won't have five, we'll definitely end up networking our desktops and we will probably opt to go wireless so we can be complete nerds with our laptops. Hmm...finally WOW on a network!
Get Double Play and Pay Only $69.00 With Every Purchase of Two Services Bundled.
Or get Triple Play and Pay Only $99.00 With Every Purchase of Three Services Bundled. With the triple play Comcast bundle you will have the ability to check voice mail messages via email and download video, Cable Broadband High-speed Internet, Digital phone, and Cable Television service, when purchased together, can save the busy, cost-conscious consumer considerably over purchasing individual services from different service providers.
Don't act like you aren't interested. You know you are.
Thanks to ThinkGeek you can own them and joust whenever your medieval heart desires.
"M'Lords and M'Ladies, this is real tilting; you don't break lances here, you knock your opponent clean off his or her mount. When your opponent falls, their horse is disabled."
Yes, I know I've mentioned this before, but I am thinking about where I would like to send Braeden to school. He will be 4 years old in October, but I feel that it is never too early to start preparing. And though I went to public schools my whole life, I have been looking into k-12 Private Schools.
The reason for my wanting to get Brae into a private school is because I have seen the outcome first hand with one of my younger cousins. He has been able to excel exponentially while being in a private school and I admire his determination. I feel the smaller classes and dedicated teachers really help to keep children committed. They are so many disciplinary problems in public school and so many children who don't want to be there and their parents don't seem to care. I feel that if you send your child to a private school and are paying for the service that you'll be putting you child in a classroom with other children whose parents really do care about their child's education. Do you know what I mean?
Education Seek is a website with an extensive directory of k-12 Private Schools. It's helpful to be able to look through and compare the different types of programs available nationwide. In addition to offering the directory, they also offer guidance and list things to consider when choosing a private school.
The site also mentions the fact that many private schools are considered college-prep schools. These schools claim higher academic achievement and a more positive pier environment than most public schools. Much of these results are attributed to better-compensated educators, fewer restrictions, and student bodies that have higher academic standards for themselves.
So, if you're like me and like to prepare and research; be on the ball for your child. You should check out their site, it has a lot of valuable information.
"For people looking to liven up the formal rigamarole surrounding the exchange of business cards in Japan, Arigatou Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the sale of laser-etched food products, offers "Taberu Me" edible business cards printed on peanuts."
A jar of 150 Taberu Me ("Eat Me") business cards cost 5,800 yen (about $50).
Bah! Remember my recent post about mortgage loans? Well, it is all absurd I must say. When you research online, everyone makes it sound so easy. It's not, don't let them fool you. All lenders will claim they can get you secured loans with the lowest interest rate with minimal down payments. But when you get to the nitty gritty fine print...it's not that way at all.
It's nice to find sites who will discuss personal loans an a case by case basis. Meaning they do the figures based on amount of loan, amount of time needed to pay it back, the purpose, etc.
And one thing you might find helpful is when a site will allow you to compare loans. "The most important thing to do before getting a loan is to shop around. Before you sign anything, make sure that you have looked at all possibilities for your needs. If you can separate all the various features of a loan and concentrate on the features you require, you can find the best rates for your needs. Nearly three quarters of all loans are paid off early, so it pays to know the charges for doing so."
Y'all know the designer Diesel, right? Expensive, chic and so not in my realm of comfort? Well, at their last fashion show the models shared the runway with holograms.
The show was entitled "Liquid Space" and the holographic images walked the runway or rather floated down the runway in between the models. Special effects and animation at a fashion show. Who knew they could be so cool?
From their press release, "Diesel will push the boundaries yet again by hosting a pioneering catwalk show that combines innovation and technology setting new standards for showcasing fashion collections."
I have to agree, this was very cool and definitely set new standards. I vote for models using hover boards, like in "Back to the Future," next time. =o)
Okay, I have to admit when I first heard about Pingo.com I instantly though of Plinko, remember that game from the Price is Right which really didn't have any strategic or intellectual basis, it was all the luck of the draw from where you dropped your plinko disc. Anywho.
Pingo.com is just a smart move, no luck about it. Phone cards may seem out of date but I have a different perspective. Writing music reviews there are times when I'm phoning from Delaware into Canada, Washington state, and even Germany and Ireland. I don't have a spectacular long distance calling plan on my cell phone so it gets pricey. And I don't want an international long distance calling plan because quite frankly it is not necessary if I only plan on using it a couple times a year, right? Right.
With Pingo.com you will receive up to 4 hours of free International calls just for signing up. It doesn't just end after four hours either, Pingo Mobile saves you up to 90% on your International cell phone calls forever, yes, forever.
For you creative video students out there, this is a great chance to create a commercial for a product and not only score an A in class, but also win some money. Pingo.com is working with Qoof.com to pay $5 to the first 250 Pingo usermercial videos posted! If you are not an up and coming video student but still want to profit on becoming a customer of Pingo, their refer-a-friend calling card affiliate program pays $15 for each new customer you refer.
Beyond what Pingo can do you for individually, it is important to note what they offer groups and businesses. With Pingo Business you can even create sub accounts for business associates and family members, then manage those accounts from a single master account. If you would like to know more about how it works then definitely check out their website.
Remove the lid and label from a clean, empty plastic two-liter soda bottle. Carefully remove the upper third of the bottle by cutting along its circumference at approximately where the top of the label used to be. Put an attractive liquid such as orange juice or cider vinegar in the cup-shaped part of the now-severed bottle. Turn the cone upside-down and insert it into the cup-shaped bottom part of the bottle. Seal the seam at the top of the bottle with duct tape. Fruit flies find their way into the bottle, but they can't get back out. After most flies are trapped inside, simply seal the bottle in a plastic shopping bag and throw out.
Well now, perhaps we don't need to learn the quick and sneaky moves of the karate kid.
Let me tell you how much of a geek you have to be to find enjoyment in researching mortgage rates and loans for buying a new home. This is something I've been struggling with for sometime now and more so recently than in the past.
First of all, even with dropping prices, the house market is so inflated it is insane. I don't know how people can afford to live after they buy a home. But I suppose once it is done, well, you just make do.
There are a trillion places to go for information and they all say they are the best. Every person you talk to will direct you to the best bank or the best loan office or the best whatever. Right? I know you know what I'm talking about. So the best thing to do is hunker down at your PC and surf around, find the site you are the most comfortable with, jot some notes and then eventually call someone for more information and a time to schedule an appointment to talk.
Right away you will notice two major differences in these places. Some of them are insitutitions that have many hands involved because they can do a variety of financial things. You will also find places like DragonFi Home Finance Direct Lender where you are dealing with one person. There are not any brokers involved, you won't be transferred from person to person in the company. This is a one-on-one deal which quite frankly is cool because buying a house is stressful enough as it is.
Dragonfi explores each client's financing needs on an individual basis. They make it their job to make sure you understand the pros and cons of each loan package they offer. No hassles, no stress, no anxieties just people helping people. DragonFi Home Finance Direct Lender employs people to do the number crunching, understand their clients and give the best...it's not machines, it's not calculations based on averages. So, you won't just be an account number to these people. That's very cool to know.

Dutch scientists at Radboud University Nijmegen have used a laser flash 40 billionths of a millionth of a second (40 femtoseconds)on a heated disk surface to change the magnetic field direction on a hard drive disk 100 times faster than current write speeds. This technology is called heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR). This surely is a step in a right direction. However, these tests do not boost reading speed from a drive, only the speed to which the driven is written. At least faster write speeds will be able to keep up with the ever increasing data network speeds.
Why am I not surprised? There were eBay auctions for iPhone bags. iPhone bags without iPhones. $305 for a bag - the bag you get when you purchase an iPhone to carry it out of the store with. It looks like the $300 aucitons have been taken down, but there are plenty up for iPhone bags under $5. Still...it's a BAG, and it's not a collectors item no matter how cool it looks. However iPhones with bags are going for a cool $900.
JWin is known here for their iLuv brand featuring several iPod accessories.
And now they are known for wasting even more money than before. They have created bikinis with integrated iPod control buttons.
I guess it's good for girls who have so much oil on their hands they are unable to hold their iPod and push the buttons that way. Or maybe they don't want to to get the iPod wet. Come on now, honestly, would you swim in this? No. This is for girls who sit out in the sun all day.
And no, I'm not going to put up the photo of the girl with the big boobs who is sporting the bikini, but you can visit I4U News to further indulge.
It's not easy being a parent sometimes. My Brae boy will be four years old in a few months and I'm thinking about where he should go to kindergarten. And when I get on that kick, I start to think about what will happen when he needs helps with school projects and *gasp* math problems.
Math was always my hardest subject in school. I used to go to sessions before exams in college because I struggled so much. Have you seen the curriculum for math in schools now, it is so different and strange. Old math was hard for me, new math is completely foreign.
So, thank goodness for math tutors! I've read about Score Education Centers and it pleases me to know their approach to tutoring children is hands on and interactive. Especially for math, I think being able to learn with real-life, hands-on activities is the only way to go. And since I know they work with children in grades pre-K through 10th grade...I'm pretty sure Brae will be fine when it comes to math. SCORE! has been bookmarked in the parenting life-saver folder of my favorites. =o)
