No, I have not purchased Vista and when my parents asked if they needed it for their new computer I told them no. Their printers are older and the drivers probably wouldn't have worked. I think Vista is pretty but there are programs you can use to customize the look of any OS.

Everything I have heard about Vista has been negative. And I have Windows XP which though it has its problems I enjoy it. I think this OS is user friendly and there are enough security options you can take to tighten up the loopholes.

I read an article about some pros and cons. The discussion prompted the question; should Microsoft abandon Vista? I'm not sure it needs to disappear, but it needs to be fine tuned. It's a system memory hog and even the newer computers with their 3.2 GHZ cannot keep up with Vista's demands and that's just not cool.

So tell me...what do you think?

Do people really wear these things?

It apparently has enough space to store all your Star Wars encyclopedias and movie guides. Lol. Of course it comes to us via ThinkGeek which is such a great geek website.

This is not a backpack for wee tots since it is just 6 inches shy of being 3 feet long! The pocket depth however is only 12 inches. So you know just how much of this is stuffing and well...fur.

I know a lot of people who love Star Wars, but I don't think any of them would ever actually wear something like this. Though I'm sure it keeps you extra warm on the cold days can you imagine running from a school bus in the pouring rain wearing Chewbacca on your back. You'd be lucky if it dried in time for you to run back out to the bus.

Still it is kind of cute to look at. Look. Not wear. =o)

    Another find:

You might also want to check out the Warming Keyboard. "Chase off those chilly morning office blues with our finger-friendly heated keyboard." lol.

As I was reading my feeds tonight I came across an article on Laughing Squid which discusses the Eye-Fi Digital Camera Wireless SD Memory Card.

In short, it hops on your local wi-fi network and automatically uploads photos to your computer or to one of 17 online photo sharing portals. How wicked awesome is that!?

I'm so drooling right now. Yes it is pricey, just under $100. But imagine how much time it would save. You could upload photos and then remove them from your card and continue taking pictures without worry.

Everex has released their $200 "green" PC, it is currently available at Wal-Mart online and will soon be available in select Wal-Mart locations.

"It's $200, with no gimmicks or subsidies," Everex spokesman David Liu said.

I don't really understand this because you can't run much on this computer at all. It stinks that I'm sucking up so much energy but the fact of the matter is I am a programmer and a designer. I use Flash, I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver libraries...so I need something that's not going to freak out and stall if I need those programs open. And I need something that will allow me to have all of them installed and then some. You know what I mean?

You can access the web, email friends and family or play the latest DVDs without much difficulty. But look at these specs: 1.5GHz, VIA C7-D Processor, 512MB DDR2 533MHz, SDRAM, 80GB Hard Disk Drive...WoW players will not be participating in this "green" purchasing. Sorry environment nerds...I hear your pleas for help in our energy crises but I can't do this one. But I applaud your efforts!
