You don't even need me to tell you that I had a virtual pet when I was younger (last year haha). It was a puppy in a blue digital case and I brought it everywhere with me. That thing was VERY needy, but certainly not as messy as a real pup. Anyway, it was fun and all the rage for a chunk of time.

Tamigotchi is back and in full family force. This time you have a virtual family and you have to provide REAL money to take care of them. It's a bank with a small screen on the front with your virtual person. The more money you add the more the person grows and advances through life. Eventually your virtual dude or dudette can end up married and living in Maui. It's completely up to you and how much you save.

The site responsible for this technology is written in Japanese, so I don't know anymore details than this, but how wicked cool! I am thinking Braeden will need something like this when he gets a bit older. It seems like an awesome learning tool. I do wonder how long it would take before a child or adult gets bored though. And if you don't have money for a week or so does your person die or get divorced or something? I suppose it can only be SO real. I think it is a fantastic idea.

Laughing Squid recently ran a post about the Human Calendar. At first I thought it was interesting, but then when I realized just how it worked I was just in awe. Not only is it a human calendar, but it functions. Since I'm slow it took me some time to figure out why the faces were all looking at a specific square.

Marcia! Marcia! Marcia! Each day the faces change and direct your view to the correct date. It's very cool and I give major props to Craig Giffen and of course his bunch of brady's inspiration.

Craig created the human clock several years ago and has been working on the calendar on and off for quite some time. It's done. It's awesome.

    Check it out.

Star Trek fans...I'm sorry to have to say...CBS is shutting down their Star Trek website and the staff will be laid off. Gee CBS, think you could have waited until after the holidays? I mean, I'm not a fan by any means, but my husband is (gag) and for all other fans out there I think this really sucks. They should have at least tried to sell the site first.

You can write to the editor about this if you are interested. The e-mail address is in the "source" article (the link is below).

Oh and you should definitely not miss out on this remote control Rubber Ducky!

Lol. According to a Reuters article, "w00t," an expression of joy coined by online gamers, was crowned word of the year on Tuesday by the publisher of a leading U.S. dictionary.

Merriam-Webster President John Morse said "w00t" reflected the growing use of numeric keyboards to type words.

The article explains that "w00t" it "reflects a new direction in the American language led by a generation raised on video games and cell phone text-messaging and topped all other terms in the Springfield-based dictionary publisher's online poll for the word that best sums up 2007."

Are you aware of the date dear friends? December 4th. This means there are a mere 20 shopping days left before Christmas. I know a lot of people who are just beginning to think about gifts, whereas I am pretty much done shopping for everyone who will be receiving from me.

So for those of you who are now feeling the need to get started, head over to Overstock.com for $1 shipping no matter how many items you put in your cyber cart.

While you peruse be sure to also participate in the "All I want for Christmas Giveaway." They are also doing a $1K per day giveaway so sign up for that one, too. Do it now! Today is the last day for their best offers before the holiday!

I have found a great number of deals at this site and not having to worry about the shipping costs is a huge relief. Being an online mini-mall of sorts you can get a lot of gifts knocked out with one checkout because Overstock.com has everything you could ever want.

I also appreciate their Holiday Gift page because it gives you ideas for those hard to buy for folk. And if you're a curious shopper (like myself) you can check out their lift of the top 100 gifts this year.

If I could pick an item to win it would be a Home Theater System to go with our new television. We have an HD TV now but we don't have an HDMI DVD player. So what the hay, opt in for the entire system and then make some buttery popcorn to complete the perfect home movie setting. =o)

Headline of the morning: Guitar Hero meets Warcraft

Without reading the article on the ABC news website, I immediately pictured my Blood Elf Mage walking through the Hinterlands with a guitar strapped to her back. I wonder how much armor it would give? I imagine it would definitely increase stamina and spirit. =o)

This could be the deal of a lifetime for Vivendi SA. The company wishes to acquire a "controlling stake" in Activision, Inc. This would be great for gamers because it will force Electronic Arts Inc. to start competing with another big gaming company.

In the Blizzard world I would fear taking on Activision might cause patches and expansions for WoW to become even more few and far between. We're already being forced to wait until next December for the "Wrath of the Lich King." But who knows what will happen, it's just a very interesting plan.
