A remedy for those people who type everything in CAPS!

It is actually a standard Caps Lock key that features a couple of 14-gauge 10-millimeter spikes screwed inside two tiny holes drilled into the key. Lol. It exists!

And then here's a gadget/sensor thing that can turn your water and gas into electricity. Researchers of the Fraunhofer Technology Development Group TEG have now successfully managed to convert this fluidic energy into electricity.

Fraunhofer researchers from Stuttgart have developed a new technology that enables the production of energy-autonomous and thus low-maintenance sensors. "Our system is eminently suitable for sensors in pneumatic plants, as we can convert the kinetic energy from air or water into electricity," explains Jose Israel Ramirez, who is doing research on this topic at the TEG. "The fluidic energy transducer generates electricity in the microwatt or milliwatt range. This is sufficient to supply cyclically operating sensors with enough energy to read out and transmit the relevant data."

Input your starting and ending locations, type of genre you would like to listen too, and a custom playlist will be displayed for you. The service is free and is interesting to see what the site picks for you when you travel from the east coast to west or just an hour away.

When I typed in Bear, Delaware to Fenwick Island, Delaware and chose the genre "Country" it found 29 tracks which it said I would enjoy during the 98 mile ride.

Thank Goodness Amplified Journeys is still in BETA mode.

Anyway, there are three options as I see it after the list is displayed. You can e-mail, export or print the playlist. While it isn't clear if iTunes or another source for downloading music will join forces with them, it looks like for now you would have to download each specified track on your own.

In the end, I think it's a really neat idea but has a lot of missing pieces and room for error. Still, I give major props to the speak company of harman/kardon for coming up with the idea.

Here's a copy of the e-mail Comcast customers were sent earlier this morning in my local area.
Comcast is committed to providing you with the best online experience possible.

One of the ways we do that is by managing the leading fiber optic network in the nation to ensure it is fast, safe and reliable. As part of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve the quality of our service, we are switching to a new network congestion management technique by the end of the year. It is focused on managing network congestion only when and where it may occur. It will also replace the current technique and will help ensure that all of our customers receive their fair share of network resources.

What does this mean for you? Probably nothing. We ran five market trials of this technique over the summer and found that less than one percent of customers were affected. So, the vast majority of customers will not notice any change to their Internet experience as a result of this new technique. During the times of busiest network use (which could occur at any hour, depending on your neighborhood), those very few extraordinarily heavy users - who are doing things like conducting multiple and continuous large file transfers - may experience slightly longer response times for some online activities until the period of network congestion ends.

As we transition to this new technique, we have amended our Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") and posted it on the Comcast.net Web site. For links to the amended AUP, as well as answers to Frequently Asked Questions and more information about this new technique or our network management efforts in general, please visit our Network Management Policy page at: www.comcast.net/networkmanagement.
Essentially this is just another way for them to stop people from downloading and or uploading large files; legal or not. I wonder how this will impact MMORPG for gamers. Maybe it won't matter at all? Who knows. What about the people who legally download movies, game and music? Heck, you can download things straight from Amazon, EA Games, and a whole slew of other companies. It's the direct download after buy option. What if it times out while you're fulfilling a legit purchase? Who knows maybe it will just mean Customer Support for a million online companies will double over the next several months. We'll just have to see.

Are you curious to find out what songs your friend has on his iPod? Now you can turn it into a trivia to pass the time with iNo Quiz Game?

Specifically designed for iPod owners, this brilliant party game/speaker dock transforms your not-so-humble player into a fast and furious interactive music quiz. Just pop your iPod in the sphere, set it to shuffle, grab one of the wireless remotes and let battle commence. It's like a hi-tech version of Name that Tune minus Tom O' Connor's terrible jokes. The first player selects an iNo playing card and tells opponents what element of the song they must identify: title, artist, album, etc. The first person to buzz in pauses the song. Correct answers equal points and a nice little ego boost; incorrect answers equal points deducted.

In other news, it's a big day for eBay and CEO Jon Donahoe. The company is laying off 10% of its workforce, or about 1,000 employees plus several hundred temporary positions. They will take a $70 million to $80 million restructuring charge around the layoffs, they said.

And they've made two acquisitions: Denmark's DBA for $380 million and Amazon-funded BillMeLater for $820 million in cash and approximately $125 million in outstanding options.

eBay stock is at a 52 week low...
