Again I read about things like this and immediately think of my brother. He has so many ideas and inventions in his head it is crazy. Often times it is difficult to put things into gear and move forward with ideas. This is why entrepreneurs need networking help, because it's not easy to find direct sales business opportunity.

Direct Matches has the networking capabilities to help you spread the word about your business ideas. Basically they do a lot of the footwork for you with people you might not ordinarily be able to reach. Having the chance to increase your visibility based on keywords and information you provide is something that is not easily done. But if you have a link on a high ranked business networking site then you are sure to receive more requests and visitors.

On August 30th a press release went out that stated, "DirectMatches.com Becomes Major Player in Business and Social Networking Market, capturing a wide margin of the small- and home-based business market. Investors clamoring for a shot at a piece of the action."

Being able to participate in a direct sales business opportunity such as marketing your business with this company is something that can definitely assure you begin or continue to climb the ladder of success.

Even if you are already in the process of expanding your business, this is something to add to the list of things to try. They have different opportunities to trial, including a free one. If you like their service and become a paid member you will have chances to make money from them, because people will be referred to them from your business website.

And as if you needed further incentive to check them out and see how they can help you, they are also throwing a contest to win a new BMW or Hummer.

Geez louise, I just don't get marketers sometimes. I mean I think this type of branding may actually deter me from getting involved with the product.

"FogScreen, a "walk-through projector" that will allow ads to fill entire spaces, such as walkways in subway tunnels, with an ad that you can walk right through." The FogScreen produces a thin curtain of "dry" fog that serves as a translucent projection screen, displaying images that literally float in the air. Hmm. Is this safe? Will something like this block hidden cameras from witnessing crimes? You could shine a light on this fog and make it very hard to see through. I certainly wouldn't put these ads in a subway where people could take advantage of this curtain. Not to mention the fact that there will be consitent water consumption involved.

The pros of course being that you'll never have to climb up on a table to reach the gizmo that is a physical projector and see why it won't turn on. Nor will you get smacked in the face by a projection screen that just will not cooperate. And the add-on features make it possible for you to interact as a consumer and write on the fog with your hand which is pretty snifty.

Sure this could be exciting, maybe I want a hologram in my house. But I really am not comfortable with the idea of having to walk through one in a subway. It's great that new forms of media are in development for advertisers who really want to WOW their customers. I'm just not so sure about this project yet. We'll have to see how it pans out.

So you're fresh out of college, looking for a job in graphics or marketing. It's not easy, especially if you live in an area like Delaware. So you've got to pull out all the stops. My resume is accented in turquoise and my initial head the page graphically. It's visually appealing.

But when you wall into an interview and hand them the paper, they'll glance at it and then perhaps place it on their desk, right? Or worst yet, you are "cold calling" and dropping your resume off in person before even being invited for an interview.

So how do you make sure your resume is top of the pile and pronounced? You can buy one of those expensive portfolio kits, or you can be more original and try printed folders, sticky notes, premium business cards all personalized with your own logo.

VistaPrint allows you to upload your own design and/or logo to be custom printed onto your medium of choice. So you can be as unique as you want. It will work, trust me.

Yes, I know Shakira is hot. I'm not blind.

But why in the world would Panasonic ask her to promote their brand?
What in God's name were they thinking?
And why does it look like she doesn't have any arms in this photo?

But the press release says this marketing ploy is to target the Latin American market. And so perhaps Shakira isn't such a bad choice.

Shakira's first appearance will be in ads for new models of LUMIX digital still cameras. The recent commercials have been filmed in the Bahamas and Shakira will represent Panasonic until March of 2008.

Ok, this is the technology themed blog, but we all know it really means we can discuss anything remotely geeky, too. Right? Hehe.

My younger brother graduated with a dual-degree in business management and marketing. He has always been the business minded one. He is great at puzzles and creating strategic plans. He reads marketing books, business-themed books, etc. It's crazy. But anyway, sometimes I look out for sites that I think would interest him. (Since my craziness spans from all that is the WWW).

I find him information on business, companies and their rankings. He likes to know what's going on with the Fortune 500 and such. It's nice to have the net at your fingertips because you can easily find out Google ranks, Top Yahoo Rankings and other statistics that indicate growth or popularity for a company.

There are marketing related search engines now, like Apogee Search; it is one of the 25 largest Search Engine Marketing firms in the world. What this means is Apogee gets the stats and analyzes them for you. In addition, they keep you posted on all the latest news having to do with rankings online. Like the AdWords IP Exclusion mess that is currently going on. Apogee explains that The IP Exclusion tool allows you to "camouflage your AdWords paid search campaign from being seen by 20 competitors." Seems awfully sneaky to me, so I'm glad Apogee gave me the heads up.

You should check out their site. If you're like me you can learn a lot at their blog about latest news, but if you are business minded and want to generate more profits and learn more about search engine ranking...you can do that, too. =o)
