Very interesting

I would like to think I would stop and listen to good music no matter where I am or how rushed. Even if that meant stopping on the street and listening to someone playing for spare change.

Turns out I'm a rarity. Because the Washington Post hired an internationally known violinist to play in D.C. at the L'Enfant Plaza Station during peak travel time. Joshua Bell, 39, has been playing music his entire life. He is a well known musical prodigy. He has mastered songs that few can even touch.

And he was pretty much ignored. If you went to see him at a concert, you might end up paying $100/seat. But here he played, for free, out in the open and few people stopped to listen.

Perhaps people were feeling too rushed, too busy. But really? I just, I don't think I would have kept walking. I think I would have stopped if even for only a minute.
