From Philadelphia, PA, Audible has released a couple split EPs in addition to their contributions on the exquisite matt pond PA tour EP. Their first show was as an opener for Bright Eyes.

Their story is a bit confusing to me. I know the band consists of Mike, Jim, Mary, Kris and Steve. Mike and old time friend Jim began putzing around playing music and then asked Mary to sing backup, play the Casio sk-1 and egg shaker. (Mary was Mike's girlfriend at the time).

Mike and Jim joined matt pond PA and toured with them for two years. And Mike and Mary broke up. Though Audible was on hold...it didn't halt completely. Even though they were busy with touring and breaking up with each other...they still recording songs with Mary and Jim using ProTools and a borrowed ksm44.

In 2003, Mike and Jim parted ways with matt pond PA and turned their attention to Audible. They added Lefty's Deceiver bassist (and Mike's now-girlfriend) Kris Muller to the lineup. They had a guest drummer, but not a permanent one until the summer of 2004. Steve Cawley walked through the band's garage door and played every song on the record note-for-note.

Now they are Audible for serious. =o)

Tell me...did any of that make sense? Yeah, not so much for me either, but then again soap operas never do. What matters though is the sound, and the sound I love. Crisp vocals and superb instrumentals, backed by catching energy.
