My future sister-in-law lives in Michigan so when I saw this track I thought I'd toss it onto the blog and throw out a quick dedication to the lovely Kristin. (Purely based on the track title).
Whether you think the band is pop or folk or folky pop, it doesn't matter. Honestly their latest album,
Asleep at Heaven's Gate, is not their best, but it's still good music. Sometimes bands hit speed bumps and I think this is what happened for
Rogue Wave. However, that doesn't mean they won't evolve. I certainly hope they do grow and develop together because it seems they need to have more of a combined sound, sometimes it feels like sporadic forced moments of solo shining is more important to them than the overall sound.
Poppy music, dark themes, it seems to be the indie trend.
