Me so sleepy...

I wish I may, I wish I might, find a way to sleep tonight.

Anyhoo, Lisa Germano is a longtime favorite of mine. And her song "Starfish" popped into my head this morning so that's what you're getting. =o) In the 80s Germano was noted as John Mellencamp's violinist (sidenote: Mellencamp was recently elected into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame). She's doing a bit more than that now however and has released seven full length albums since 1994 and 2 EPs. Her tracks have also made it onto several compilations and soundtracks.

She is one of six children and her parents encouraged all of them to learn an instrument at an early age. Go rents! When she was merely seven years old she wrote her first piece of original music; a 15-minute opera on the piano. Whoa! It's obvious the girl has music on the brain and things only improved as she refined her skills.

When you listen to "Starfish" you can virtually imagine yourself on a summer day, walking through a hazy meadow in the wee morning hours. It is as if her voice can momentarily stop time.
