Braeden and I were listening to The Barenaked Ladies this morning on the way to day care. I figured I should take Straylight Run out of the player and put on something a bit more upbeat...okay...a lot more upbeat. "Pinched Me" is a classic song, I'm going to have to dig it up and post it.

For now...I'm going to straddle the mainstream line for a minute and talk about "The Academy Is." They were originally known as "The Academy", but added the "Is..." in 2004. Apparently someone else was called "The Academy" and so legally they had to change the band's name. I think it's hilarious that they just added Is. Hehehe.

"We want to move people... to impact in them the same way we've been affected through music."

Anyway, the band has two full length albums. Santi came out in April of 2007 and there is another one coming out this year some time but I don't know anything more than that. Though I do think it must be happening this in the early summer because they have a show coming up this May in East Rutherford, Jersey. Though I don't think they'll be officially on the tour bus until June 20th with a show in Pomona, California for the Vans Warped Tour. Back to back shows are scheduled beginning then...normally this means a new release, so we'll see.
