From their MySpace page: "Thick as thieves frontmen Billy Barratt and David Vincent bring you Billy Vincent, a South London based five-piece band spearheading a new sound for 2009, 'Dirty Folk'.
With their first single "Sugar & Soap" now available, Billy Vincent are heading for a busy summer, with additional singles supporting festival appearances in the run up to the release of their debut album towards the end of the year."
Lyrics mean nothing without a solid backing track to flesh out the thoughts, and this band does not disappoint. They range mostly from mellow to mid-tempo, from country to folk, with heavy instrumentation and without...perhaps that is where the "dirty" gets thrown into the folk. Who knows. Either way, I love what I'm hearing and I think they are making a great debut.
