Artists for Healing

Feeling guilty right now because I forgot to do a write up about the first "Artists for Healing" event which happened on Sunday, September 14, 2008. "Turning Toward the Sun" was a special evening of music which benefited the Make A Wish Foundation out in California, Los Angeles.

Three of the bands which performed a the event were Brandon Schott, Just Off Tuner and Moving Picture Show. As you know I'm a big fan of Brandon Schott and he was scheduled to perform with a string quartet! How awesome is that!?

What you may not know is that Brandon Schott formed Artists for Healing after having battled cancer last year. He received such an influx of generosity and support during his battle that he felt compelled to develop a new and creative way to reach out and help others.

Artists For Healing is a musical outreach program for artists in the California area to pull together to celebrate and champion causes close to their hearts.

"This is my way of applying music and art towards an active spiritual & musical therapy - and to provide a healing presence in our world. We can all play a part, however small it may be," Brandon believes.

To further gush over the awesome things Brandon is doing right now. You should know 75% of the proceeds from the sale of CAROUSEL (REVISITED) on iTunes goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater LA.
