The Lodger.
Yes, I know, this is why I am not a comedian, but come on, did you at least chuckle? Just a little? Ok.
It's not often a band starts because they are encouraged by a label. Normally a band comes together and all but begs labels to give them a listen. Use that as incentive or not, but I'm telling you as a listener...The Lodger deserves some attention. They have new music with a classic sound.
Their first single, "Many Thanks For Your Honest Opinion," definitely set high standards when it comes to their sound. But everything they've followed up with has been just as good if not better. Establishing a firm line-up, Ben, Joe and Katie began touring around Yorkshire, England in February of 2006.
Comparisons have been made with the Arctic Monkeys, but I'm honestly not an AM fan as I have posted before. So my liking
The Lodger should say something to ya. I would fancy them more like Morrissey and I do like Morrissey.
Slumberland Records says The Lodger produces "effortlessly catchy pop tunes that burst with enthusiasm and demand to be heard."
Their album Grown Ups came out on June 5th, so if you haven't been listening all the time then you're missing out and that is just not cool. =o)
