While I haven't written about
Adrienne Pierce in some time, she has been an artist I have followed and enjoyed for some time now. I've come to admire her as a singer and songwriter, but also as a humanitarian for all the causes she has contributed to and supported throughout her lifetime.
Her songs have appeared on major television shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Veronica Mars, The Hills, Dirt, Army Wives etc. Adrienne has toured extensively all over North America and the UK, including stops at festivals like SXSW, NXNE, CMW, and NMW and the Toronto Film Festival.
This month she has released a new EP, simply titled
Winter. It includes six tracks, all which exemplify the awesomeness of this time of year; both the season and the holidays. Like with all the albums Adrienne Pierce has released thus far, there is an ever appealing honesty and understated quality to each piece.
The third track on the EP is Pierce's dreamy interpretation of Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts staple, "Christmas Time Is Here." You can hear the sleigh bells in the air for sure and the vocals are refreshingly whimsical.
My personal favorite on this EP is "Joy Is Within Reach," while I listen I can't help but hum along to her glorias. The lyrics are endearing and gripping, reminding us all of what this time of year is really all about. The instrumentation is simply a delight; with Pierce's perfectly tweaked guitar strumming matching the overall mood.

Of course
Adrienne Pierce began her North American tour yesterday and we should all be psyched. But the day she is in Philly just happens to be my son's 4th birthday and there is no way I will be able to make the show. Other belated news from Miss Pierce is that one of her songs "Fool's Gold" was played during an episode of ABC's show "Greek" over the summer. Wee-hoo!
Grab one of her tracks in an
older post... And of course you should most definitely
buy her music!
And we have some news from the lovely
Jessica Sonner. She is currently writing, playing and recording in the studio. She is very excited about a new song "All We Need" which is just awesome. There has been a self-proclamation of developing and maturing as a singer. So me thinks we have lots to look forward to from this gal.

To show some love for my
Cloud Atlas crew, I've got a tidbit of news. This summer they were asked by an independent film maker whether they minded 'Even Astronauts' being used in a short film. How awesome is that!? It's no surprise to me of course because ever since hearing that track I have been following their blossoming stardom. =o)

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to write about
Adrienne Pierce. Yesterday I had every intention of posting a review, but then I didn't. And today I've been thinking about it and listening to her and wondering how in the world I'm going to be able to describe the way she sounds. That's when it hit me.
Adrienne Pierce is indescribable.
Her style, her voice...it is like nothing else I have ever heard before. And that is a good thing, a very good thing. She has the voice of an angel.
If you need to listen to something that is going to comfort and soothe you. Listen to Adrienne Pierce. If you want to light some candles, slip into something sexy and seduce your love...well, I guarantee you the sound of Adrienne Pierce in the background will help. Her music is mesmerizing.
