Helene is nothing less than fantastic

Heliotrope: "Any of various plants that turn toward the sun." To look towards the sun...I suppose this something we should all do a little more often these days.

You'll be reminded of Regina Spektor and Feist, but helene has a sound of her own as well. She has a sweet and strong voice which I think makes her presentation all the more inviting. Of course my little boy loves the trickling sound of the lone piano keys which can be heard throughout helene's music. According to the band's myspace page, Helene does the singing; Graham does the guitaring; Will does the slide-guitaring; Caroline does the bass-playing and James does the drumming.

Inspired by her mother's love of the Smiths and similar British groups, Helene began exploring her own musical voice at a very young age. She soon became a staple in the London indie scene, and was even offered a record deal at the age of 15 by famed producer Alan McGee.
