And word on the street is that the upcoming Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs album is going to be a smash! Except for the
album's first single cover art which makes me feel gross to look at it. You can read all about the New York trio's adventures on a Texas pecan orchard where they recorded most of the April 14th disc in the current issue of
Rolling Stone.
This is their third studio album and it will have ten new songs. It was produced by Nick Launay and Dave Sitek and will be released on April 13. The first single from
It's Blitz!, is called "Zero." The single will be available in shops on April 6 and on iTunes on February 24.
The album was apparently inspired by Joy Division as well as Italo Disco great Giorgio Moroder's work with Donna Summer.

I'd also like to quickly introduce
Fanfarlo. For some of you it might not be an introduction, the band formed in 2006. There were six members, but as of this year there are only five, and they are already quite popular in Europe, specifically their home base of London.
On February 14, 2009, they released their debut full-length album,
Reservoir. Prior to Reservoir, Fanfarlo released four singles on four different labels. Two of the most recent, "Harold T. Wilkins" and "Fire Escape", appear on Reservoir.

Ghosts" (mp3)
Enjoy!

This track is so great, I personally think it's physically impossible to stay still while this song is playing. I have to bob my head or do a little chair dancing while I'm listening. (No nothing naughty!)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "
All I Want For Christmas" (mp3)
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a new album coming out which we are told will release in early 2009 and will be completely different than what we have heard from them before. So that's something exciting to look forward to for the new year.
