Thursday Thirteen: 13 sounds that irk me

 1. The sound of something falling in the middle of the night. *cut to me racing down stairs with a baseball bat to find the white board had fallen off the fridge.*2. When someone not only coughs but seems to gurgle their grossness in their throat 3. Creaking doors or floorboards 4. Scratching on a chalk board 5. Squeaking brakes when I'm in reverse backing out of the driveway 6. Dogs running up and down stairs in the neighbors house at 11 p.m. 7. The dryer hopping around because the back leg is broken. 8. A timer on the microwave that someone forgets to shut off. 9. My alarm in the morning. 10. My four-year-old, Braeden, calling from the bathroom to make sure I come in and watch him wipe his bottom. (We're working on this, he's always afraid he will miss some dirties). 11. When my computer tower at home seems to be lifting off a rocket launcher when I'm running too many programs. 12. The garbage truck at 6 a.m. 13. "Mommy, I have to go potty." After he's all buckled in his car seat and we're just about to head off to day care in the morning. *laugh* What a great list! I'd add this to the list, if it was me: The sound of the smoke detector in the middle of the night, shrieking out its battery failing warning and scaring the breath right out of me. [Fire?!?! Is there a /fire/?!]

It is kind of comical now that I'm reading back over it. Irked at first and laughing in the end.
Irked at first but laughing at the end is the best way to be.
I'd add, someone knocking on a neighbors door so loudly that for a moment I can't tell if they're at my own door.
I work third shift and sleep during the day (aside from now where the insomnia isnt' playing nice) and it always happens once I've finally gotten into a good sleep and I'm completely disoriented when I wake up. *headshake*

Great list. Agree with the added comment of shriedking battery failing warning on smoke detector. Also add someone's cell phone going off in theater, symphony hall, lecture hall, any somewhat quiet setting for that matter.
I hate #4. I think everyone does.

My hubby ran a SAS program on an old computer and it literally rocked back in forth with the effort! Great list!
