For my friends and my family

Headaches can't keep good news down

So Braeden was a good listener at daycare today (after three days of negative reports)! AND he ate something new at dinner. Penne pasta with garlic and brocolli. This is a HUGE accomplishment for the Brae-ster. I am so proud of him!

Also, I just read that in spite of a veto threat from the President, Senate still voted to pass an "Iraq Pullout Bill."

"It also orders Mr. Bush to begin withdrawing troops within 120 days of passage while setting a nonbinding goal of ending combat operations by March 31, 2008."

Suddenly, a wicked headache doesn't seem so bad. But I do think I'll be going to bed early tonight. **yawning**

Migraine of the century

Holy crap Batman.

I have a wicked, wicked headache this morning.

I'm going to blame it on the wind/allergies/drastic temperature changes.

Hopefully, you're all okay with that.

It is beautiful outside though, cold compared to the 80 degrees from Tuesday, but beautiful all the same. If only the sunlight weren't piercing my oh-so-sensitive retinas right now.

Bloomframe

This was too cool not to write about. I mean seriously.
Bloomframe, a window that turns into a balcony.

You have to look at it and see it to believe it. But the Bloomframe is a window that can fold out and turn into a balcony. It really is! It is meant for small apartments in the city that wouldn't otherwise have such a thing.

Scary? Yes. Cool? No...Awesome!

Photo Fun

So I found this fun website that allows you to put your Flickr photos into a museum frame. Yeah, so that doesn't make sense when I type it out, but see below.

Cherry Lip Booty

Brae picked chapstick from the treasure box after he had eaten all of his meals for the day. And it was Pirates of the Caribbean chapstick. The flavor, which I read to him, is "Cherry Lip Booty" and that made him absolutely hysterical.

See for yourself.

More birthday yapping

So I'm the luckiest girl on the planet. Seriously. So completely blessed!

After all the celebrating throughout the day, my family and I went to my favorite Italian restaurant Trattoria Di Napoli. It has amazing food! When you grow up used to homemade Italian food sometimes it is hard to eat that type of food out. But I have not once been disappointed with Trattoria Di Napoli. I had Penne with their blush Vodka sauce and it was delicious! I brought left overs to work today. Woohoo!

Braeden helped his Gram make me a chocolate cake. He put Disney princess figures on the top of it. So sweet!
And I received such a cool new shirt. So cool in fact, you really must see what it looks like. It had been on my ThinkGeek.com wishlist. Hehe. See, in this shirt, I think geek really could be sexy, right? Right. (I know how you love when I answer myself.)

Mmmm. What else? Oh! Braeden ate very well yesterday, so he was able to pick a surprise out of his secret treasure box. He picked Pirates of the Caribbean chapstick. But that's not what it was called for real...the packaging said "Cherry red booty." I kid you not. That is what it said. So when I read that to Braeden he cracked up laughing! I got it on video and tonight when I get home I will uploaded the video to the blog so you can all hear and see him laughing hysterically about his new chapstick.

Good times. And a very happy birthday indeed!

Birthdays have never been so sweet

I'm 26 today.

It's really not a big deal, but it's nice to have a day in which everyone seems to want to wish you well. Right? Right.

Braeden and friends at daycare just called and sang "happy birthday" to me at work. It was very cute to hear all the kids in unison. I wish I could have recorded it to share with all of you.

And I received a huge box of chocolate covered strawberries from berrygourmet.com. I am the envy of the office now. =o) They are ginormous and oh-so-very-tasty! I took a picture in case you don't believe me.

Not to mention the slew of e-cards I have received from family and friends. All very cute and nice personal sentiments in each. Thank you everyone. It is only 10:32 a.m. and I am already have a wonderful day!

The new bed

Oh look at it in its glorius standard size!
No more rock hard twin! I need to get new bedding, that is still my twin bedding. But look how cozy it is just sitting there waiting to be rested on.

Thank you to Toby and Brett who brought it over last night. And thank you to my Dad who put the frame together this evening. Sweet slumber tonight!

And yes it is in a frame but the frame is directly on the floor, because that's how I roll. Haha, no really, I roll...off beds. A girl can't help it if she was just born clumsy. ;o)

Yay a new bed!

Courtesy of Toby, I now have a full-size bed and can be done with the twin, as faithful as it was all this time. Toby and Brett brought over the mattress and box spring and I already have a frame. Woohoo!

And Toby gave me some of his homemade wine which I'm really excited to try. Me loves wine. ;o)

Yesterday I had my license renewed. It seems scary to think I won't be doing that again until 2012. The picture turned out decent for a mugshot and so I'm pleased. Plus my last picture...I looked twelve. At least now I will look more like 17. Haha.

And of course, tomorrow is my 26th birthday! My family is taking me to this perfect little Italian restaurant down on Route 40. I so love it! I'll take pictures!

Things are going pretty well for me right now.

Holy mackenzie..MAIL ROCKS

Today I had a couple packages come in the mail. A birthday present from Heather which is awesome, it's this wonderful necklace with a swirly purple/blue stone. I love it!

And the shirts I ordered from Threadless.com came in, they are awesome shirts! They also sent a drink hugger and stickers, very cool.

But the most amazing envelope came from Canada with a handwritten note and five CDs. The note begins "christy, thx for your support, I decided to send the brand new "pink ghosts' reissue w/extra tracks as they just arrived from the plant today. hope that's okay....enjoy! take care, jon"

I am now a proud owner of three of The Acorn's cds, the Kelp Records 12th Anniversary Compilation mix AND the Kelpmitzvah CD for Kelp's 13th birthday! Wicked, wicked awesome! I am completely elated!

HELLUVAGOOD

I put that Helluvagood onion dip on my slice of cheese pizza.
It was SOOOOOO good!
It made my mom choke on her tea though. Don't worry she's okay.

And we're off

Brae and I are leaving to go down to Smyrna for Christopher's 5th birthday party.

Hoping the roads are okay now, I know further south didn't get as much ice.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

If you plan on going out on the loop or doing any partying tonight, remember there is a a whole plethora of police patrolling and doing DUI checks throughout the night. This is the least safe night of the year to be out driving. So be careful!

Time to be artsy

I think I am going to start drawing more often. I'd like to end up putting together a portfolio of my sketches; outside of my web portfolio. They are such different entities, you know?

And this may seem silly, but I'd really like to try my hand at some anime. Geeky or nerdie as that might seem...it is so me!

And it will get me away from the computer screen for a little while. Haha.

Cars in the ditch

Even with a 4WD vehicle, I really don't like driving in bad weather. Specifically in condition of slush/ice as was the drive home this afternoon. Fortunately, my boss told me to go home early since the roads were getting so bad. Thank God I'm not still working at The News Journal!

I saw so many accidents and cars off the road while on my 8-mile drive to work. I know, only 8 miles...if that...and it was chaos.

Two days ago it was 79 degrees out. Good Lord why did you make it "Mother Nature" don't YOU know that women can never make their minds up?

Rain already!

Something has to give. I really think the reason my head is still aching is because of the weather. Is it going to rain or is it going to snow? Yesterday I drove home with the temperature reading 79 degrees and today it was 52 degrees. What is wrong with this state!? But this happens every year. It will eventually balance out, I hope.

I've been doing major revamping of the Bring Me Up blog and I'm very excited about it, so make sure you all check it out.

Tomorrow is Friday praise the Lord. Brae and I will have to do something extra fun this weekend. We deserve it!

Fatal Headache

Okay, so maybe it won't be fatal, but this headache is one of the worst I have ever had in all my life. It started at the back of my head and worked its way...well...pretty much everywhere. I am in such pain. Yes, I have taken medicine and I have a heat patch on my neck as recommended by the doctor. Nothing is helping. I'm pretty sure I just need to step away from a computer monitor (as scary as that sometimes seems) and go to bed.

I do hope to get in some reading though for both me and Brae.

Sidenote: Brae has eaten all three meals for the past three days! The secret treasure box incentive seems to be working well.

Quotable

This is from Oprah's "Daily Inspirational E-mail"

Shaking

I don't know why, but my legs never stop shaking. I'm always fidgeting. Have I always been this way? I don't know, but it's driving me crazy. Though I do believe it is probably very good exercise while I am sitting at my desk.

Right now I'm designing a Landscape Horticulture site, it's fun. It's going to be funky and yet professional all at the same time. I am very excited. The faculty here at CANR are thrilled to have a web developer and they don't hesitate to tell me. It's nice to feel appreciated, but it is also a bit overwhelming. I know I'll be okay though and I'm having fun.

My neck/shoulder is still giving me problem though. I'm sure it is stress/muscle related but taking 800mgs of muscle relaxers at work just doesn't sit well with me. It makes me think slower and I don't have the time for dilly dallying. No, I'm not dilly dallying right now, I'm waiting for the Dreamweaver cache to stop loading. =o)

Secret

It's not really super, top secret, but it will do for now.

In light of my scrink blog going uber-media with all the music and book reviews/suggestions, I have decided to develop this blog for people close to me to keep up with my life better.

So don't go sharing the link, but please refer here if you want to know the ins and outs of Christy & Brae's world. =o)
