Back to work

Having a nice long holiday break was wonderful. I was able to spend so much time with Braeden doing things I don't normally have the energy to do after a long day at work. We went to lunch, we went shopping, we went to the playground, we saw two movies and what was most wonderful was being able to play together.

Going back to work this morning and leaving him at daycare was really hard. With other things on my mind I was already feeling emotional, but driving away this morning I just cried.

As strong willed and bull headed as Braeden can be sometimes, he is still the beat of my heart and I ache being apart for him if even for only 9 hours. I am very blessed to have been able to spend a whole break hanging out with him.

Carrie comes back to work today for the first time since she went out on maternity leave in August. She will be dropping Olivia off at my Mom's daycare as well. I am sure she will be feeling the same anxiety as I am, only probably worse since Olivia is just a babe and while she knows my Mom it's not the same.

I was helping Brian look for other jobs last night and I came across some that I could apply for, too. Being a web developer at UD means being extremely underpaid, but with great benefits and perks like the long holiday break. But there are places where I could work and make $25K more than I am right now and well that might be something I'll unfortunately have to look into.

My office is very empty right now as I'm typing this. All my paintings and pictures are off the walls. I'm being moved out of this great office and into the basement into a converted lab space. I'll be sharing the area with three other ladies from the communications team. This is the 2nd office I have been moved out of, but the first time in my history of working here that I will be moving into a cubicle. I have to say it's kind of a slap in the face.

However, I know I'll adjust and the ladies I'll be sharing the space with are awesome so things could be much worse.

Mya, our maltese, has spent the last two days whimpering and crying. I'm waiting to hear back from the vet this morning about getting her an appointment. She is eating, she is going outside to do her business, she wags her tail when I call her name, but when she's just laying on the sofa or on the floor she cries. I'm worried about her very much, I know she is getting older and I'm afraid of whatever might be wrong.

Tomorrow Braeden has his first dentist appointment. I'm anxious about this, too though I know he'll be brave. He has a really loose tooth and as you read previously he has already lost one. Hopefully everything will go well, I'll let you know.

And then of course on Thursday we have our next baby check up. Hopefully I'll hear about an ultrasound.

Other than that there's not much else I feel like sharing. But if you could do me a favor and send some positive energy this way I'd really appreciate it. I hope you all had great holidays and will be having a happy and healthy New Year.
