Inauguration Day, even Braeden is excited

Today is the day President Barack Obama is sworn into office. I'm elated.

My Mom bought Braeden a book which includes part of President Obama's victory speech and tons of photographs with President Obama and children all across America. Braeden and I read it this morning before I left him there and went to work.

By the end of the book he was reading, "Yes, we can!" The book is fairly new, but you can find it on Amazon, it's called "Yes, We Can! A Salute To Children From President Obama's Victory Speech."

I think I'll order the book, "Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope," for him as well. We have talked a lot about Barack Obama and I don't want that to end. Braeden also has books about Dr. Benjamin Carson and he is genuinely interested in them. Any message of inspiration or hope is one I want to instill in Braeden yesterday, today and every day forward.

Braeden still isn't feeling well. It has now been 10 days since we first started hearing his cough. It was loosening up well and I thought he'd be over it, but yesterday it tightened right back up and he is struggling. In addition, his nose is now gunky and I have felt some swollen glands on both sides of his neck. He has a very low grade fever, but nothing I'm alarmed about. I am alarmed that he still isn't feeling well. Especially since he is using Albuterol daily now.

I have been reading blogs and forum postings from other Mom's who are fighting to help make their children healthier and improve their quality of life. Brian and I both agree we will do anything to help Braeden feel better, for longer periods of time. I'm also going to work on building my own immunities. I'm going to try supplements, vitamins, herbal remedies, anything that has worked for someone else I'm going to try. If it doesn't work for me or for Braeden than so be it. But I'm not going to wait around to hear more doctors tell me he is normal.
