Do you remember how many great family television series existed 15-20 years ago? My brother and I used to sit with our parents on Friday night and watch the four-in-a-row family shows on the TGIF lineup. Shows cycled in an out, there was Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers, etc, but they were all shows great for family entertainment.

Everyone is always saying how families should eat together at the dinner table. But dinner goes by so quickly, it can be rushed and over in 20 minutes. Not that I'm trying to endorse excessive TV watching, but it was something I always looked forward to as a kid. I think my whole family would agree that it was nice to get together and laugh over good, wholesome shows.

Last night one of the very few remaining family shows ended. 7th Heaven ran for 11 seasons and remained the #1 rated show on the WB until the station rolled over to the CW. The episode ended with all of the Camden's, their extended family and their close friends packing up for an uncharted road trip. It had to be hard for all of them, but it was nice to see they began as a close knit family and ended the same way.
