Game on. The race to 1 million followers on Twitter has a new player, after singer Britney Spears' manager made it known she has joined the competition.

For those who have not heard about it, the race started earlier this week when actor Ashton Kutcher challenged cable news channel CNN to a Twitter duel, promising to ring CNN founder Ted Turner's doorbell if he wins.

Then on Wednesday, Spears' manager posted the following statement on her Twitter page. "Let's get Brit across the million mark!," he wrote. It was the equivalent of the United States joining World War I after sitting on the sidelines, because Spears is a Twitter powerhouse with more than 940,000 followers as of Thursday afternoon.

Kutcher had challenged CNN to the Twitter race, saying he would donate 10,000 mosquito bed nets to charity for World Malaria Day in late April if he beat CNN, and 1,000 if he lost. CNN agreed to do the same.

And Kutcher wound up the winner. Go Ashton!

It's one of the most shrouded summer movie mysteries: What will actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt look like as masked baddie Cobra Commander in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra"?

The 28-year-old actor isn't giving away any details, but Gordon-Levitt says the villain's look was the main reason he signed on for the movie, based on the popular Hasbro toy line.

"The way the character looks, that's what ultimately convinced me to do the part," he says. "I saw the designs and drawings of the way they interpreted my character for this movie - the costume, the whole getup - and I was like, 'Oh, wow. I get to be that guy? Fantastic. Sign me up. Please. Thank you.'"

Miley Cyrus receives PETA's Compassionate Citizen Award

While filming Miley's new movie, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Miley saw chickens on the movie set and felt bad that the animals had to work - animals are not actors. Subsequently, Miley took several of the chickens home to care for and welcome them into her family. As a result, PETA is recognizing Miley's efforts and presenting her with their Compassionate Citizen Award!

Good grief.

Mischa Barton has a job! She's been cast in a CW show produced by Ashton Kutcher. "Ashton developed it about his life growing up as a model from Iowa, so it's about the whole fashion world that he was in, and obviously I have a lot of friends in the fashion world, so I'm used to being around a lot of people in that," Barton says. "[I play] a bitchy model-type character, like it's a totally different character for me."

The Hollywood Reporter says that Barton will star in the pilot episode for the planned series 'A Beautiful Life'.

It follows the lives of a group of male and female supermodels who share a home in New York.

She explains, "We shoot nine months out of the year, so there are so many films I can't do.

"On my latest movie I would go and take a day off from Gossip Girl in New York and go to Connecticut and shoot that and then come back the next day. And they don't really like to share you."

Keira Knightley has turned down the chance to reprise her role in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, insisting she's "done" with the franchise.

The actress made her name in Hollywood playing aristocrat-turned-swashbuckler Elizabeth Swann in the hit Disney trilogy.

A fourth movie is in the works, with Johnny Depp already onboard to play Captain Jack Sparrow one more time. But Knightley is keen to move on from the role.

"It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done. But I'm very excited to see the next one. And he (Depp) is so wonderful in that character. I think it'll be wonderful.
