Ryan Reynolds' will reprise his role as X-Men mutant Deadpool after landing his own spin-off in the comic book film franchise.

Reynolds starred alongside Hugh Jackman in the fourth movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine; and studio bosses at Twentieth Century Fox have already begun development on a film to flesh out his character's story, reports Variety.

The actor will take over the big screen as Deadpool and alter-ego Wade Wilson, a cancer-stricken mercenary who becomes an indestructible mutant thanks to a genetic experiment. Just last week Wolverine director Gavin Hood sparked reports Reynolds is set to star in his own X-Men movie, revealing he hopes to chronicle Deadpool's superhero background.

Mishca Barton has reportedly rekindled her romance with former flame Luke Pritchard.

The pair — who split in March this year - were recently spotted partying together in London, fueling speculation they are dating again.

"Mischa made a beeline for Luke, and they soon started kissing, before then leaving the party to go back to Mischa's hotel room."

Jennifer Aniston is being linked to actor Bradley Cooper after the pair reportedly flirted up a storm at Tuesday's party for her new movie, Management.

A new report describes how Bradley tried to enter the bash incognito by wearing a rubbish diguise of hat and glasses, before getting cosy with the actress once inside – much to his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Esposito's disgust.

"Bradley and Jennifer [Aniston] were definitely into each other," a partygoer tells New York Post's Page Six.

Katie Holmes, last seen on Broadway running for her life from several white people in navy blazers, will star in Miramax's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Co-written by Guillermo Del Toro, Dark is based on a 1973 TV movie about "a young, Suri Cruise-type who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with devilish creatures."

    Mischa Barton has a job! She's been cast in a CW show produced by Ashton Kutcher. "Ashton developed it about his life growing up as a model from Iowa, so it's about the whole fashion world that he was in, and obviously I have a lot of friends in the fashion world, so I'm used to being around a lot of people in that," Barton says. "[I play] a bitchy model-type character, like it's a totally different character for me."

    The Hollywood Reporter says that Barton will star in the pilot episode for the planned series 'A Beautiful Life'.

    It follows the lives of a group of male and female supermodels who share a home in New York.

    Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have broken up. Again. According to E!'s Marc Malkin, Mayer at least had the decency to wait for Aniston to get back from promoting "Marley & Me" in ­Europe before breaking the news.

    ET senior producer Bonnie Tiegel met face to face with Howard K. Stern just hours after he posted bail on charges alleging he supplied drugs to Anna Nicole Smith.

    "Howard is devastated and he intends to fight these charges," Bonnie Tiegel says after her exclusive meeting with Stern.

    Stern and two doctors Sandeep Kapoor, and Khristine Eroshevich were accused of multiple felonies on Thursday night.

    Blake Lively says Gossip Girl is holding back her movie career.

    The 21-year-old actress - who plays Serena van der Woodsen in the hit TV show - says she has been so busy filming the teen drama that it's been impossible to take up film offers coming her way.

    She explains, "We shoot nine months out of the year, so there are so many films I can't do.

    "On my latest movie I would go and take a day off from Gossip Girl in New York and go to Connecticut and shoot that and then come back the next day. And they don't really like to share you."

    Keira Knightley has turned down the chance to reprise her role in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, insisting she's "done" with the franchise.

    The actress made her name in Hollywood playing aristocrat-turned-swashbuckler Elizabeth Swann in the hit Disney trilogy.

    A fourth movie is in the works, with Johnny Depp already onboard to play Captain Jack Sparrow one more time. But Knightley is keen to move on from the role.

    "It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done. But I'm very excited to see the next one. And he (Depp) is so wonderful in that character. I think it'll be wonderful.

    A new Nike ad pitching men against women is launched today.

    It features Eva Longoria (yeah, cause she's sporty), in best Desperate Housewives mode, throwing real life husband Tony Parker's trainers off the balcony of their high rise flat and then his triumph in revenge.

    Tennis ace Rodger Federer, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, long distance runner Paula Radcliffe, hip hop dancer Sofia Boutella and Liverpool hot-shot Fernando Torres also make appearances.

    Mischa Barton is single again. The Kooks singer Luke Pritchard ended his one month-plus relationship with the actress after she got all clingy and shit.

    A source said: "She was really smitten. They'd been on nights out in London and really got on. But when she suggested he visit Paris he got cold feet."

    "He said he didn't think they had a future and it was better they went their separate ways. Mischa was heartbroken."

    Julianne Moore recently appeared on The View to chat about her participation in a new Valentine's Day initiative with Save the Children - an organization that provides tools and support to over 35,000 poverty-stricken children.

    Miley Cyrus recently announced on her website that she ditched the Porsche in favor of a new black Prius. "I didn't like it 'cause it was bad for the environment, and it was too big," she says in a new video. "My dad surprised me last night with a black Prius."

    She says she prefers it over the SUV because it's "good for the environment, and it's adorable!"

    Country artists are taking over the Grammy's on February 8, 2009.

    A special performance with Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus headlines the latest announcement of performers. Kanye West and Estelle will also perform together, while nominees Adele, Chris Brown and Sugarland are also scheduled to sing onstage, the Recording Academy said Tuesday.

    Other performers will include U2, Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, Jennifer Hudson, Jonas Brothers, Rihanna and Carrie Underwood.

    Heroes actor Greg Grunberg has paid tribute to doctors at a Chicago, Illinois hospital for saving his son's life by performing brain surgery on the youngster.

    The star, 42, has three boys with his wife Elizabeth - Sam, five; Dan, nine; and Jake, 12 - and the family is currently celebrating their eldest son's health after having treatment for epilepsy.

    And Grunberg made sure to give a public message of thanks to the medics who worked so hard to ensure Jake pulled through the operation.

    The stars of Twilight have been honored with a new animal-friendly accolade.

    The youth division of People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has given its Libby Award to the Twilight cast.

    The honor recognizes companies, bands, people and films that are helping animals.
