Should I be insulted when I open a gift and the item on top is a bar of soap called "Demon in the Dark." The ticket stated I could wash away my inner demons. And I thought to myself, how did this sender know I had demons to cleanse myself of!?

The package ended up being from my brother and his girlfriend Jada. They sent a whole set of stress relieving/relaxation goodies from Lush.com.

Lush hand makes all of their cosmetics, soaps, haircare, etc. They have crazy names for their products and colorful packaging. All of the products are made with fresh, natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. In case you are wondering what kind of fresh ingredients, here is a quick list:
coconut
seaweed
strawberries
papaya
ginger
lemon
blueberries
wheatgrass
avocado
fresh mint
ocean salt
The gift package I received is called "Serenity." It is, "For people who are finding it difficult to achieve a bit of peace and quiet in their lives; the Serenity box brings you Lush products with calming properties for your hands, body or head - everything you need to spoil yourself rotten."

Perfect!

Thanks guys. It was very sweet of you to think of me and my well being. You didn't have to do that, it was quite a surprise and I really appreciate it!

I have all types of problems with aches and pains, 26 years old going on 80! Many nights I lay with a heating pad and it helps, sometimes I use heat to relieve my headaches as well.

Normally in the medical field when you hear the words "freeze it" you are typically talking about removing warts. I've never *knock on wood* had one, but even so whatever works is whatcha got to do.

There are other times in which you need that cold, icy feeling to do the trick with your ailments. You may have heard of Icy Hot, it's a cream you apply to muscles and it is cold but it gets hot over time. There is another product, Freeze It, I have tried recently that has the "freeze" effect and it works for muscle, joint and arthritis pain. Except it is FAR less greasy than the other creams you can buy on the shelf. You can repeat usage up to four times throughout the day if you need to, but in one use I felt a GREAT relief in my lower back pain. It has that menthol scent initially, but it vanishes quickly which is great!

Another perk to it being so efficient in freezing the pain away is that it is inexpensive. You can get two tubes of it for under $16. They will last you a good long time, so you won't be running to the store every weekend to up your supply.

Even if the video is cheesy, it still tells a lot more about the scientifics and marketing points, so check it out if you are interested.

Pediatric Allergy and Immunology is something I never knew would fascinate me and in all likelihood it wouldn't have if my son didn't have an IgA Deficiency. But he does and so I read and learn and grow.

A study was recently done on 460 children living in Minorca, a Spanish island in the Mediterranean. No special diet was required, they were just looked after and wrote a food diary.

The results of the study are pretty interesting. Kids who ate the most tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, green beans, and zucchini were 62% least likely to have asthma or wheezing. Kids who ate more than 60 grams of fish per day were 57% less likely to test positive for allergies.

There you have it, Brian, we're having fish tonight.

Medical technologies are astounding. To think it is possible to remove cancer via sound waves is something miraculous in my eyes. Studies and practices are showing that HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) can blast away prostate cancer in its earlier stages.

By definition prostate cancer is cancer that grows in the prostate gland. The prostate is a small, walnut-sized structure that makes up part of a man's reproductive system. It wraps around the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body.

"HIFU focuses sound waves in a targeted area which rapidly increases the temperature in the focal zone causing tissue destruction. Unlike radiation, HIFU is non-ionizing so it can be repeated if necessary without damaging healthy tissue."

Of course each case will be different and it is up to the patient how they wish to handle it. It's always good to know all of the possible options and it sounds as if HIFU will be a very good option for many men especially if it can remove the cancer with very little side effects or damage to healthy tissue.

Suicide was the third-leading cause of death in the 10-24 age group, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ran a study in 2004 and the results just now are being reported. It is the biggest rise in suicides in 15 years.

Director of CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, told reporters, "We don't yet know if this is a short-lived increase or if it's the beginning of a trend."

You know, I wish results like this were reported in a more timely manner. If it is related to a certain drug on the market (which it very well could be) it's probably something they should look into a little quicker.
