Msn.com had a featured health tid-bit on their front page this morning and I'm such a sucker for clicking on anything that tells me I can do a work-out in the office.

Like many people I spend a good part of my day sitting on my arse behind a desk. Bob Harper has some fantastically easy ways to make sure you take a few minutes each hour to do some calorie burning. Something as simple as sitting down and standing up over a 60-second period each hour automatically gets you doing squat-like exercise to work your thighs and buns! Man, why didn't I think of that!? It's genius!

He also suggests sitting on an exercise ball while at your desk. You can keep an exercise ball in your office and switch it out for your desk chair every now and then. He says it will help you to build up your core strength. Brilliant!

And um, you can tell by the photo he is an expert at fitness. ;o)

Alright ladies and gents, now you can do your work out or run that mile while also monitoring your heart and it doesn't have to be a hassle or a nuisance. A sports bra, men's cardio shirt or racer tank and heart monitor in one. Heart rate training is extremely important and beneficial to everyone who cares about their fitness routine.

Special sensors are knit into the fabric of the sports bra, men's cardio shirt or racer tank. The textile sensors maintain contact with the body, sensing your heart rate and relaying it to a tiny transmitter.

The transmitter is snapped into a pocket in the front of the garment. It captures the heart rate data and transmits it to a heart rate monitor watch.

The heart rate monitor watch instantly displays the heart rate for the you to see.
Five Great Reasons to Wear A Heart Monitor

1. Improve Your Health
You don’t have to be a serious athlete in training to benefit from wearing a heart rate monitor when you exercise. Whether you’re working out to control weight, tone muscles, build endurance, strengthen your heart, relieve stress or simply maintain good health and fitness, a heart rate monitor can help you find the right pace and intensity of exercise to achieve your goals.

2. Lose Weight
A heart rate monitor can tell you if you are exercising hard enough –– or too hard –- to burn stored fat.

3. Make the Most of Your Limited Exercise Time
If you’re juggling a busy schedule and have limited time for exercise, a heart rate monitor can help you maximize your workout to achieve the best results.

4. Exercise Safely
Those who regularly exercise with a heart rate monitor can be the first to know if they are developing a health problem.

5. Be Your Own Coach
If you’ve ever found it difficult to exercise by yourself without the encouragement of a friend or trainer, a heart rate monitor may be just the thing you need. Set your watch to beep when you fall below your target, and your heart rate monitor will urge you to pick up the pace.
The NuMetrex Heart Sensing Racer Tank offers the same cycling heart rate monitoring capabilities as the NuMetrex Heart Sensing Sports Bra, which was named 2006 Sports Product of the Year by the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association.

Just to give you some background info on who you would be buying from and why you can trust their product... The NuMetrex line of heart rate monitor athletic apparel was created by Textronics, Inc.

Textronics was established in June 2005 by a team that left the corporate world with the mission of bringing new technologies to market faster. Spinning off from INVISTA S.a.r.l., formerly DuPont Textiles and Interiors, Textronics started out with a rich technology portfolio based on the integration of textiles and electronics.

See and this is why I don't mind my three-year-old wanting to listen to music all day long. He has his own disc player and he carries it around with him frequently. He calls it his "singing thing." Sometimes he falls asleep listening to music and I have to remove the headphones. =o)

Well now research has shown that listening to music while warming-up for a work out can actually boost your performance.

In fact, Dr Costas Karageorghis, of Brunel University, says that listening to music can actually improve performance by up to 20%. That's awesome! See this is why Carmen Electra and DDR helped me lose weight after I had Brae.

And it may all very well be mind over matter. I remember on the way to swim meets in high school we always turned the radio up and got psyched for the meet. It definitely got us pumped and that makes you want to swim harder or perform better because your adrenaline is surging and you're just ready to go!

Now I know you didn't expect to find this kind of post here. But I'm always talking about all the dating sites online these days. You can find hundreds of site that promise to match you with a person that matches your interest.

Now there is a Fitness Dating site. Oh yes. This site features single men and women who are interested in in dating someone who cares about Fitness and Health. The categories of people you can find include muscular women and buff guys. I'm not much for those labels, but you get what they mean.

Of course you register and join for free. Then you are matched to people who seem to mesh well with your profile. And you can choose to send your matches a message or take a more rejectionless approach and send them a "flirt note." Hehe. Reminds me of middle school, do you like me, check yes or no.

I think this site is meant to reach those of you are would like to try online dating but don't want to end up with lazy people who just sit in front of their computer all day long and don't go out and do anything. So, hopefully it will work for you if you give it a try.

Let me first explain, I don't think I'm overweight. I just think I could be more toned and it's something I really need to be more diligent about.

There are so many websites that claim they can help you lose weight. Diet pills, diet shakes, starving yourself...those things just aren't the way to go when you want to look more healthy and fit. Especially if you would like to maintain that look.

MyFitnessPal.com is a 100% free website that knows losing weight and staying fit is NOT easy. So they want to help you. They have a searchable food database of over 6,000 items to help you with calorie counting. And to make it even easier you can use their own calorie counter tool.

What ends up happening is you will build your own personalized diet profile by logging your snacks and meals and exercise. Plus, their free calorie counter will help you to know exactly how many calories you are burning depending on the type of exercise, your weight and how long you did the exercise. It's as easy as that!

AND they have a community forum where you can talk to other people using the same program. You can share recipes, give support, be supported and discuss nutrition with people who are in the same boat as you. So beaches and bikinis are your enemies, why don't you try out MyFitnessPal and make them your friends.
