Yes, I am a cryptkeeper. That’s what Amy of Amy’s Crypt affectionately calls those of us who follow her and her husband, Jarrad Cutting. I’ve gone through a deep dive of all their content over the last couple of months. I have watched every video, some more than once, because they are so intriguing and entertaining. I keep saying “they,” but it seems that this very much began as a hobby for Amy, and her husband, Jarrad, is there as a sidekick. However, I believe he’s just as important as she is in the investigations because he’s so scared of everything that they provide balance to each other. Hahaha.
Many of you know that I am a senior paranormal investigator with Diamond State Ghost Investigators. So paranormal podcasts and shows are very much my thing. I mean, this very blog has a whole section of oddities and ghost stories. This is my jam! But, I digress.
Back to Amy’s Crypt.
Amy and Jarrad are a wife/husband duo from Australia who travel the world to conduct paranormal investigations. It’s quite often just the two of them, but sometimes they invite other investigators and sometimes they include the historians of the locations they visit. They have been able to get into locations that others have been turned away from, so I need to figure out their trick. Honestly, though, I don’t think it’s a trick. I think it’s because they don’t bring an entire time and all types of crazy things. It’s just the two of them.
Their Setup
Jarrad is holding a camera with IR lighting
I’ve seen up to three cameras in their videos. Amy and Jarrad both hold cameras throughout and they have IR lighting to see in the dark. An IR light is invisible to humans but can be detected by specialized cameras or night vision devices. It’s used in the dark so they can see the camera hat their eyes can’t see naturally. They also use tripwires, REM pods, cat balls, GhostTube SEER, Vox and SLS and EMF detectors. Their EMF detectors are handheld gadgets and toys, depending on the location.
The unusual part of their investigations is that they rely heavily on GhostTube as I mentioned above. Their entire investigation shows GhostTube running in screen with visible audio spikes and words in the bottom left corner of their videos. I love this! They also use a GhostTube Seer, an AI image generator that reminds me of a viewfinder. They often use this tool while doing an Estes Method investigation.
The Estes Method usually combines sensory deprivation and white noise. One investigator puts on a blindfold and noise-canceling headphones. The other investigator asks questions. If someone hears something come through the white noise, the person listening to the white noise says words out loud. If a spirit attempts to talk through the white noise, the responses will match up to the question or could potentially steer the questions. Amy and Jarrad have great success with this investigation technique.
An amped up Estes Method
I’ve seen countless shows use the Estes Method in their investigations. What makes Amy’s Crypt different, is that they often use the GhostTube Seer. So, instead of a blindfold, they are immersed in a virtual reality headset called Ghost Lens. It’s really just a gadget holding up their phone so they are staring at a black screen. Sometimes, the screen, with the AI tool, will display an image. They have been at places where the images that come up will match hallways and rooms in the place they are investigating. It’s really freaking wild. There’s no way that tool should be able to do that, so the theory is that a spirit is interacting with the Ghost Lens to try to share a picture.
Oh, the places you will go
According to their Patreon, their latest investigation occurred in the Octagon Hall mansion in Franklin, Kentucky. Like seriously, they are everywhere. I don’t know how they do it and I’m super jelly! You an get the backstory or history of the locations they visit on the Amy’s Crypt blog. Amy takes the research very seriously, which I really appreciate, and she often doesn’t share the details with Jarrad. So, as they travel, he doesn’t know the names of people that they might end up hearing about in their EVPs or on their GhostTube.
The most recent YouTube video is from the Nevada State Prison. Prior to that one is the Old Washoe Club. They have been everywhere! Doll Island, Hellfire Club, Houska Castle and even the Blood Countess Castle! I mean, if they can get into a location, they go and they often spend the night right there, all night, sleeping bags in dirt tunnels and all. There’s a video below from their night in Romania in Dracula’s Dungeon. Amazing.

Each video they post is about an hour, sometimes longer, and they always suck me in. I always want more. So I am a member of their Patreon, because I like the behind-the-scenes videos they post for members. If you love ghost shows, paranormal stories and lore, I really think that you’ll love Amy and Jarard. I appreciate that they don’t go into places to stir up anything. They care, respect the properties, and genuinely want to give the spirits a voice. Plus, Amy always has stellar makeup. Love her!
Definitely check them out across all of the many platforms! Amy’s Crypt on YouTube. Amy’s Crypt on Patreon. And on Instagram!
And, let’s grab some music for this post! I’m choosing “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac. Because Amy’s Crypt is literally everywhere and the lyrics feel somewhat appropriate if you know what an investigation is like. Constantly asking questions of spirits and hoping they will talk to you. Sometimes even the slightest whisper can make your night.
I’ll speak a little louder
I’ll even shout
You know that I’m proud
And I can’t get the words out
