It’s hard to realize and then let go when you are ina situation in which you think you can better someone or you can fix them. There is no fixing a person. People are human beings wih free will and free range to lie to themselves and to others if they so choose. Even if they are lying with the best of intentions in mind.
You can’t fix that. You can’t fix them.
I’m not in the business of going around and trying to fix people, but oh there was a time in my life in which I was all about becoming a professional people fixer. Until one day I realized there is far too mcuh about myself that needs fixing. And that’s when it hit me…you can’t fix people, they have to fix themselves.
I know someone who like the Serenity prayer and has been known from time to time to use it in away messages online. But it seems to me as though more people need to actually read that prayer and they need to practice its message.
