Agatha All Along will be coming to Disney+ this Fall premiering on September 18, 2024, and I’m so here for it!
I start all but demanding Halloween, mysterious, spooky, witchy themed movies and shows are the only thing to be on my TV towards the end of August. Fall is my favorite time of year and Halloween is my favorite holiday.
Once a powerful witch
Agatha All Along is said to be a WandaVision spinoff. If you’re familiar with Agatha, she is a witch who is usually drawn in long purple robes. She is played by actress Kathryn Hahn, as we know from WandaVision. In the comics, Agatha Harkness uses a totem called Darkhold to amplify her magic, and she practices dark arts. At one point, Agatha is said to be one of the earth’s most powerful witches. Sadly, she’s evil, but in the 17th century she governed the witches of Salem, Massachusetts, and worked towards freeing them from persecution. So, I kind of get it that she’s endured some trauma and just really isn’t coping well, right? Again, this is all fictional, but I digress.
Who else will we see?
In the series, Agatha has escaped a spell but learns that she no longer has her powers! What!? No wonder she needs a little help from her friends.
Agatha is a witch without a coven, but she will be joined by other covenless witches. The mixed bag of witchy friends will be Patti LuPone as Lilia, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer, Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon, and Ali Ahn as Alice. I know that in the comics Agatha has a familiar, a demon cat that goes by the name of Ebony. I wonder if that will be written into the show. If so, will the cat have a voice!?
When and where?
The series will consist of nine episodes on Disney+.
The first two episodes will air on September 18, 2024. The other seven episodes will be released weekly until November 6. Perfect timing!
