I receive a quote in my email each morning.
Saturday I received this one:
“It is well to remember that the entire population of the universe, with one trifling exception, is composed of others.”
— John Andrew Holmes, Jr.
It reminds me a lot of something going on in my life right now. Sometimes we, this includes me definitely, don’t realize how our own actions 100% affect the people around us. A wise person once said that a family is like a pond. And when one person drops even a pebble in that pond it sends out ripples. Everyone else in the pond feels effects from those ripples. Sometimes what the ripples send out is positive and happy, sometimes it’s neutral and other times it is negative and harmful.
I know that my attitude about things can often send out negative ripples. I’m aware of that and have been trying to work on my own pebble throwing.
But isn’t it so true, that a family is like a pond. We’re all connected and work together and when you start making waves it doesn’t take long for that pond to appear more like a storm across an ocean.
