When I was younger I spent a lot of time writing.
I would write letters to pen pals, poems about current events or nature, and eventually short stories. As I got older, I enjoyed writing essays, songs and eventually doing interviews and writing about pop culture topics. After I had kids, I would also write about their adventures and antics.
In the early 2000s, thanks to the beautiful world wide web, I began publishing my musings online. I don’t know what started first, potentially small posts on MySpace or in chat groups. I taught myself basic HTML, created a domain and began building Scrink.com. I am a self-proclaimed nerd and every minute spent unleashing my ramblings out into cyberspace brings me joy.
Eventually, in 2007, I began blogging. In June 2023, I lost every single post. It’s a long complicated story involving finances, poor server support, a XML backup that ended up being corrupt and me taking too much time to make up my mind.
7,000+ posts. *poof*
Did I cry? Yes.
Today is a new day. Let’s all raise our glasses of lemonade because there is more to write, and I’m starting over.
